A: i ordered this with expedited shipping and got it next day and set it up right away - answering my own question - yes it does work on crib mattress

Thank you for contacting us, we recognize that customers like you have made Munchkin the company it is today, and we truly appreciate hearing from you. Munchkin bedrails, including the Sleep Bedrail, are only to be used with adult beds (queen/twin ect.) that have a mattress and box spring. As such, they cannot be used with cribs or toddler beds.
submitted byMunchkin - 8 years agoBrand expertA: We are using ours with the IKEA Kura bed and it works perfect. We do not have a box spring on it. The straps it comes with attach to both sides of the mattress securely. We love it and are buying a second one for our other child.

Q: The full size bed I want to use this on has wooden side rails and the mattress sits an inch or two below the wooden rails. Can I use these toddler safety rails? Also the mattress is memory foam. I know that adult metal rails have been used.

A: The Munchkin Sleep Toddler Bed is only to be used with an adult bed and as such is never to be used in a crib, toddler bed, convertible bed etc.

We initially picked this product because it was one of the only bed rails we could purchase that didn’t need to be screwed into the platform of the bed. I installed it on my own but would recommend that two people participate in the installation. Works great, we have one on each side of my 4 year old daughter’s bed for two weeks now.

It came broken and because it was a registry gift we did not open it right away and missed the return window. It would not expand to its full length so the mesh bunched up and got in the way of the railing being able to function correctly.

Not meant for regular beds

I wanted to use this rail for my queen sized bed, but it comes up to the thickness of the mattress essentially rendering it useless. Aesthetically, I give this bed rail an A+; however, in terms of use I'd have to give it an F--. The quality of craftsmanship was a bit lacking. There's a zipper pull missing. I would not recommend this product.

Not for thicker mattresses. My mattress is 13” and it doesn’t come up far enough. Otherwise I like the look and seems to be good quality.

I received this product to review. It doesnt say its for a king size bed but i did manage to get it on mine. I received it just 2 days after i had a baby which worked out perfectly bc he refused to sleep in his brand new bassinet. I keep it up depending on which side of me im breaatfeeding him. It does what i need.

These rails works very well for my 2 year old daughter?s full size bed. I like the adjustable length of the rail and it was pretty easy to install. I installed it myself so it took a little longer than if you had two people. Be careful not to twist the straps under the mattress or the strap will not tighten. Great product! My daughter was very excited to sleep in her big girl bed!

Very sturdy, easy to use. My 5 year old is on the bottom bunk but occasionally would end up on the floor. This has helped tremendously. She also likes having something to lean against and snuggle her animals. It is definitely sturdy enough. Also not as hideous as some of the other options out there.

This bed rail is a great transition product! My son was sleeping in a twin with a full rail all the way across, but was getting annoyed by having to climb around it. This isn't huge (and would work even in a toddler bed), but still gives that sense of enclosure while keeping kids safe from rolling off. The under mattress clips don't really work well with foam mattresses, but The rail is still very sturdy without them.

We love this bed rail for our 3 year old. Our son is a VERY active sleeper so we find comfort and peace of mind knowing he is sleeping safe in his bed. We also love the neutral gray color of the rail so as our family grows, we can continue to use this rail for years to come! An added feature is the quick release button which allows the railing to easily fold down. You honestly can't go wrong with any Munchkin products.

My husband and I got a twin bed off of a family member to have on hand for when our son was ready to go to a big boy bed. When we got it, we realized it was a platform bed and the mattress just sat slightly down inside of a wooden frame. When the time came, it was a challenge to find a bed rail that could fit one of these bed styles. In the end, I ended up going with this one. It is absolutely perfect! At first I thought it was a little small length wise, but then I opened it up and realized that it expands and locks into place and it's truly the perfect size for him, and it feels like it's built very well. Assembly was simple. There's no way for my son to fold it down on his own and it serves the purpose it is intended for perfectly. We've only used it two days so far, but it seems like it's going to last for as long as we need it and then some. I'm so glad we purchased this!

Love this bed rail. I never have had one with my other two LO and now wished I did! Thought it would be hard to assemble and store and both are easy! I will definitely be recommending this to anyone looking for a good bed rail.
