National Geographic Ultimate Space Dig Kit Collection

Oh my goodness. This kit is amazing and so much fun. I forgot to take pictures while we were doing them. We played it safe and laid down a bunch of cardboard to work on. On a couple of them we had to add a little water to give the younger ones help. Instructions explain how to do it. They are already asking for more to do. We love doing experiments like these. It is family time alongside learning time.

I wouldn't think my child would like this, but I was wrong. This kept her mind wondering and asking questions. Super easy instructions and is very entertaining. Highly recommend

My kids loved this kit! The rocks and gems inside our beautiful too. They had fun matching them to the photos on the pamphlet, and they hope to wrap some to put on a necklace someday. I recommend doing it outside, if possible, to keep cleanup easier.

My kids absolutely loved this kit. It came with 8 dig bricks, 2 tools to dig with and 1 magnifying glass to examine the rocks with, which was great for my 2 kids to do it together. I also really liked that it came with a little info pamphlet that made it a fun learning activity as well. The instructions were easy to follow - overall great activity kit.

I got this for my 7 year old daughter who loves learning all about space. It was so much fun digging the different rocks out of each planet and came with a pamphlet that had a little information about each planet inside. I will say the only issue was the tools were a bit too small, and you really need to wet the planets or else it’s a chalky mess (unless you are outside and a mess is ok). My 5 and 8 year old boys also enjoyed this kit! So it really can be for any ages.

My kids loved trying National Geographic Ultimate Space Dig Kit. My 5 yr olds and my 14 yr old enjoyed digging for the surprise rocks inside each planet. See photos for just some of the ones we found. They were excited to see which ones came in each planet. It was fun for everyone. Each planet had two rocks inside. The planets are the perfect size for kids to work with. There are instructions but it is very user friendly. And I will warn that it may require some help if your child is young but my 5 yr olds did just fine. It comes with plastic tools to dig for safety and all planets have a flat bottom so you have a secure hold on them to work with. I will add that you should put something underneath the planets on your work space because it does create a bit of mess with digging. Totally worth it though! Would def purchase again and again!

My son had a blast with this space collection dig kit. He did need some help with the digging aspect of it as his hands are still quite small and even with using water it was a bit difficult for him to fully carve away at the planets. Once he saw what was waiting inside the planets he immediately wanted to dig all of them out. The gems inside were beautiful and well worth the mess this product creates. Definitely a kit many children of various ages would enjoy as it is a safe and fun kit. Even as an adult i thoroughly enjoyed it. Even if it was a bit repetitive and the planets were very durable and sturdy, it was worth carving to see what gems would be in each planet.

Space is one thing that my kid will never get tired of and this National Geographic ultimate space collection is just a perfect gift for her birthday. She loved the planets and digging them was the best part of it. You must see the excitement in her face when the gem rocks and gemstones came out she loves it.

Dig kit was perfect for my child weekend, kept her occupied and engaged like she was still at school while learning how planet's looked. Plus is that they are playing! It was easy to assemble, open the box, pop a planet out and the digging tools and ready to go. She really liked and got entertained by scratching and digging around the stone, so gonna segment and do some planets every weekend until shes done with all of them. Planet designs are very nicely made and they almost look like pictures from a book, only thing I wish is it had an extra info booklet to show you how many gems (stones) come in each specific planet to track them abd teach them even more. Recommended 100% specially because how kept her busy and assembly was fast.

This was a perfect activity for a rainy day! Granted there was a significant amount of dust that happened so if you’re trying to keep your house clean, you will probably want to take this outdoors. My girls were surprised that each planet had 2 gems in it. It kept them busy for a while and we still have more planted to dig up. They are very much into the solar system right now and this kit engaged their interest even more and they started asking questions about the planets while they dug that I researched for them while they dug. Great learning experience!

My kids had so much fun with this dig kit! The spent time digging the stones out and learning about each one. The gems were fairly easy to dig out. My 7 year old could do it by himself with some water sprayed on the planet, but my 5 year old needed some help. It does get pretty messy, so you may want to do outside or on a cookie sheet! This was a fun little project and when they got home from school the next day, they asked if I had another. Would definitely recommend!

My kids love these kind of dig kits but they are definitely a bit messy so this is either an outdoor toy or indoors with plenty of table and floor coverings. It comes with 8 different planets which are rounded on one side and flat on the other. The flat side makes it easier to set on the ground or table to chisel it open. The planets look super cool. Especially, earth which has 3D land details. The kit also comes with a little magnifying glass and 2 plastic small chisels with a duster on the end. It takes a decent amount of time to chisel these open. My 5 year old needed help. Once they saw the different gems inside they got super excited. Besides the mess, it kept them busy for a good amount of time.

I received this product for free from the Hey, Bullseye Sampling program in exchange for my honest review. My child absolutely loved this kit and was immersed for hours. Digging got messy so play clothes are a must. They're becoming more interested in the planets and solar system and already loves rocks and learning more about them so this was a fun activity. I liked that it included a fact sheet with info about each planet which added a nice educational element to the experience. The only thing that would have been helpful would be to include names of the planets with the pieces or provide a clearer way to identify each one. Some looked very similar, which made it a little challenging to tell which planet was which. Overall, great hands-on activity. It kept my child engaged while giving them an opportunity to learn more about something they're becoming more interested about in.

This is a super fun and interactive science kit that makes learning feel like a toy. It is on the messy side with the rock/chalk pieces that are chipped away, but I’d say totally worth it or do it outside. The stones are exciting for kids to find and keep. Overall really great kit!

This was so much fun!!! My kids absolutely loved digging the rocks out! It was alittle difficult for them to get started digging but once it softened up it was nice and easy! A bit messy but super easy to wash off! They loved reading the pamphlet that shared all the information on the rocks they each found! So much fun!! 

This was so fun for my daughters (5 and 11). The kit comes with 8 planets and each planet comes with 1-2 gemstones to unbox!** Beware this IS a bit messy but nothing a broom and dustpan can’t handle! There’s a guide included which gives accurate descriptions of all the planets and gems you can discover. This is a great activity for kiddos and they’re excited to see what else they can dig up! It’s such a great value as it’s informative, interactive and engaging! **Apparently each planet has 2 rocks but we could only find 1 in one of our planets.

My 10 year old son loved this kit. It is a little messy so it’s an outdoor project but keeps him entertained for hours. The rocks inside are pretty cool and he has them stored in his room.

This kit is absolutely fantastic. It comes with two digging tools and a magnifying glass, eight planets. These kids spend hours digging for gemstones, and every time they found one, they were so excited and they wash them off and compare them to the paper to find out what kind of stone it was. Not only did they have a blast, but it was such a great learning experience. Definitely will be doing this one again
