Q: Does this really have Turmeric in it or is it just an artificial fragrance? If it is artificial, does Native have any shampoo or conditioner that has natural scents?

No for me - 15 days ago, Verified purchaser
Have used 2 times, really weighs my hair down. Most days I typically style when wet and I can't get any of my waves or curls to sprunch up. it's a very thick formula and smells amazing. It just makes my hair look kinda fried and limp. Curly hair products can be tricky to find the right one. I think this one is gonna be a no for me. I do love other Native products, the Strengthening shampoo and conditioner is amazing and I makes my hair curl right up:). This curl shampoo will now be used as shaving lather now😂.

I had been using a more expensive brand and this stuff is way better and much cheaper. It leaves your hair soft and not weighted down. The key is to use to much conditioner. This conditioner is very rich so you need less than one might think. I truly love this stuff! Well done Native.

Honestly tried this on a whim simply because of the turmeric, but honestly I’m in love. I was using love, beauty and planet for the longest time but I noticed my scalp would always be super itchy, but as soon as I used this the itchiness completely went away. It doesn’t leave my hair dry, it suds very well, and is the best shampoo I’ve used in a long time. This will be my go to from now on.

Smells amazing but the shampoo and conditioner leave my hair feeling weighed down and almost drier. I have fine, blonde hair and it makes it looks even worse. Really thought it would work out.

I thought I wouldn't like it because I don't get that squeaky clean feeling in the shower, but my looks and feels amazing after styling ever since I started using it! Very happy with it!

Ingredients list incomplete?

This “curly” shampoo has the exact same ingredients list as the strengthening hair care line. Not sure what’s different other than the fragrance. Also, I developed a really bad allergic reaction to this stuff, despite not being allergic to the strengthening shampoo or coconut milk and turmeric. So I’m not really convinced that the ingredient list is complete. I really like this brand and use a lot of their other products, but this one seems a little weird. Despite all that, it’s great for fine curls like mine. Keeps them defined and gives me volume at the root, so my hair doesn’t fall flat. Really liked this for the first week until my whole head was covered in a rash.

Sulfates?

I have fine wavy to curly hair, I’ve been trying to find the perfect sulfate free shampoo that will help my curls really pop, only one shampoo has ever worked but the price on it is way too expensive so I’m exploring my options. When I seen this new shampoo pop up of native and it was only $10 I thought what a great deal. However, even though I didn’t wash my hair for 5 to 6 days, it seemed like the shampoo lathered pretty decently, it cleaned my scalp without any issue, but I’ve been trying to double shampoo, I don’t know if maybe it was just my fault, but when I tried to double shampoo, it lathered extremely, causing scalp dryness, overcompensation of sebum, and dandruff. It smells great overall, but once my hair is dry, even with the conditioner, my curls are dried out and flat. I will continue to experiment with the shampoo, but so far it seems that it is very high in sulfates, which is not good for a wavy to curly hair.

Great clarifying shampoo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't expect to like this scent as I'm not a huge coconut fan but I was pleasantly surprised at how clean, not overpowering and unisex it is! Even my hubby loves to use this! I love how well this lathers and leaves my scalp feeling clean but not stripped of it's moisture. It works really well at clarifying and no dandruff is left behind. It also gives enough slip to detangle before I even use conditioner. I'm not usually take away but a shampoo but I'm really impressed, highly suggest for all curlies.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shampoo and conditioner treatment worked great. My husband noticed such a change in his hair after use and the smell and look of bottle are amazing. He is no longer using his own. The ease of getting it out and making sure to not get too much is always an added bonus.

Clarified curls

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Due to having 3B-3C curls, I have to use many different products on my hair that tend to leave a lot of residue. When looking for a shampoo, it is very important for me to be able to rid my hair and scalp of theses products. This shampoo did absolutely that and with minimal amount of shampoo. The shampoo emulsifies almost immediately, making it easy to distribute through my scalp and hair. Not only was may hair cleaner, but the smell was wonderful!
