Dry, brittle hair is prone to cracking. So simply by nourishing the follicle this product is probably theoretically preventing breakage just through moisture alone.

Not worth it
This mask is thin and watery, it does not feel thick or like it really coats my hair like other hair masks. This just felt like a normal conditioner.
