Nestle Purina Dentalife Small/Medium Chicken Chewy Dog Treats

One of the only dental treats that works for my dog.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are numerous treat-like products out there that claim to "clean" pets' teeth; however, many of them contain ingredients that have limited efficacy against matrix-forming bacteria, and little brushing action. When dogs bite into a DentaLife treat, friction between the treat and the surface of the tooth actually removes some food particles and film. Hillspet came up with this technology in the mid-1990's, and it was used in the T/D--Tartar Diet--veterinary diet. I can tell you from experience that this type of dental treat is significantly more effective than others Eventually, you will have to have your pet's teeth cleaned by a professional, but feeding this sort of treat can help lessen the number of visits in dogs with, otherwise, normal dentition.

My dogs love these and really makes breath smell good

This is the treat my dog asks for everyday. He knows it by the name "special." And runs to the cupboard every time I ask if he'd like one. I've suggested it to friends whose dogs also love it. It's not a hard chew which is great because he is an older dog and missing some teeth.

Our puppy ate a dead fish at the lake this weekend. His breath was atrocious!!!! We found these and tried them. They are amazing!!!! Took the nasty breath away immediately!!!!

my dogs breath smells like booty. i gag everytime she comes near me. i now call her bb for bootybreath.

I started giving the mini treats to my 10 lb. dog last week. It's too soon to know if it's helping her terrible breath but they may be upsetting her stomach. She has thrown up and has had bowel problems so I'm going to lay off of them for a week, see if she gets better, then try them once again and see what happens. We haven't giving her anything else new nor have we give her human food lately. She does like the taste and they are soft enough to chew easily. It may only be my dog that's sensitive to them, other dogs may not have a problem.

My beagle loves these and looks forward to one every night. Helps keep her teeth clean and breath fresh.

For reasons only known to my dog, he did not like these. I thought he was eating them everyday until I found them scattered all over the yard. The price jump from the previous Dentalife chews is significant. He loved the original ones. Only way to buy them now is online.
