It works
I was notified I needed to upgrade/replace my old Netgear modem and this one was recommended. It was very easy to install and worked right away. BUT I've noticed that my TV freezes and skips more often than before. I don't know if this is a coincidence or Xfinity or the new modem. I hope this one doesn't need replacing soon; it was not cheap!

Wasted my money
Bought this a while ago, capped at 2100 download speed and 40 upload even thou I pay for 300 up. Xfinity did a update over a year ago to the boot file and it killed this modem and they have yet to fix the issue. If you buy this you will only get 40 upload as Xfinity says the modem cant do more

Does not Work
I received an email from Netgear informing that I needed to replace my CM2050V with a new CM2050V. Before I replaced my 0ld 2050V with the new 2050V I had sporadic issues. My internet connection was not constant and I needed to unplug my modem and reboot weekly. When I installed the new modem my WiFi coverage would fluctuate within a few minutes and I would have to reboot in order for example to get clear voices on Zoom. My lengthy call to support resulted in a recommendation to contact Xfinity. The plug and play part of installation always worked. However, my internet was in fact steady and the problem was clearly the Netgear modem. There appears to be a need for Xfinity and Netgear to update firmaware etc. I am returning the modem because it clearly does not work and I have installed the Xfinity modem/router.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's tough for me to give a detailed review yet, I've only been using the new modem for about 2 weeks. To be honest, the speeds I've been seeing in that time have been AMAZING and much better than my previous modem. I am now capable of reaching the higher speeds my plan offers. My only criticism at the moment is that the lights are a little difficult to decipher if they're on or not, so I did have to wait a little longer to find out the device was powered on and connected completely.

Modem got bricked
Well I never got a chance to use it. Xfinity bricked the modem on the activation process. So I just went with their modem because I could not wait for another modem to be delivered. So make sure you have a good connection and no outages are happening so the modem will not get bricked on the activation process.

So far we love it
Set up was straight forward and we noticed faster internet on Comcast right away. Had to get a separate router and that is probably part of the speed increase as well. Activatioin on Comcast account was smooth and phone worked right away. We hope the will give us a more stable phone line. The old modem dropped the phone weekly.

We had to upgrade our existing Netgear modem to the Nighthawk when we upgraded our Xfinity internet service and all I can say is that now our ethernet and wifi is booming! Keep up the good work, Netgear.

Disappointed repeat customer.
The modem is fine but I did have to have an Xfinity tech out to set it up! My biggest complaint is that using a Netgear modem for 5 yrs. they sent me a routerless modem, SO I had to buy a separate router. Netgear's rcommendation should have been compatible w/ their previous product!

Works as expected, after some difficulty provisioning the phone line with Comcast
This modem completes the replacement of a modem/router combo that I placed in passthrough mode, as its embedded router had failed to connect to a couple devices in my home. After having success with a new Netgear router, I got the modem to complete the upgrade. Except for the phone line, I was able get the modem installed and provisioned by Comcast without assistance. The phone line was another matter. Once I had an online chat established with a Comcast tech, we were able to get the phone line operational after several reboots. Since then, there have been no problems, and the internet is as fast as expected.

Needed new Netgear Modem
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very glad to be able order the NETGEAR Nighthawk Modem. My old modem was 10 years old. The new Modem is so much faster and easier to use. I decided to get rid of the phone land line, so I just use the Modem for my computer, two iPads and two iPhones.

Not in Full Control
This router is an upgrade from my previous Netgear. The router performs well but I wasn't aware that Xfinity had control of firmware upgrades. I'm not network or computer expert but I know enough and prefer to be in control and aware of when and what upgrades are happening on my equipment.
