This is terribly disappointing! I used the extra dry gel cream forever and now thats discontinued and they made 2 new ones that just sit on top of your skin and doesn’t do anything. Very sticky!! My skin didn’t absorb almost like putting plain water on my face! The OG formula was the best hydration! Used extra dry gel cream forever. I tried the new products and returned. Please bring back the OG extra dry gel cream formula. Now I will switch to a different product, complete WASTE of money!!!!!!!

I have used this for years and I don’t like the new formulation. I don’t feel like it absorbs into my skin as well. Instead it just kind of sits on top of my skin. This formula is okay, it doesn’t break me out but it isn’t as good as the original.

NEW BAD FORMULA - Not what it used to be

Amikins VA - 7 days ago
I used to LOVE this product. But after using it for years they have changed the formula. It used to be so nourishing and smoothing. This new formula is more tacky (somewhat sticky) and drying. The complete opposite of the old formula. I will not buy it again until they revert back to the old formula.

Switch Game - 12 days ago
I used another product religiously until it got discontinued and used this for about a year now. I normally break out once and a while, but I was noticing that my breakouts were worse and lasted for months before they would heal. I switched back to the same brand as the discontinued product and have found that I might break out, but it lasts significantly less time than when I was using the Neutrogena moisturizer. This also felt a little heavier on my skin than the one I've switched to now.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Burned My Face

1 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
REMillner - 20 days ago
I applied the product exactly as recommended. I didn't even use much at all. Every where I put it on my face is currently burned and bright red; has been for a full day. It is painful like a bad sunburn. I only got relief by applying Aquafor to all the red areas. I have used this in the past and it was always cooling and hydrating. I never had any burning at all. I've been made aware that the formula changed. There needs to be a warning label on this product. It is my opinion it is damaging to the skin in some instances and we don't know why or what since nothing is indicated My dermatologist has suggested for me to come in and bring the product for analysis. This is not an incidental kind of incident. I'm probably going to need recooperative treatment since the skin itself has suffered cellular damage. I have always thought of Neutrogena products as trusted, but changing a formula people use regualarly without any notice and without warnings on the label or any indication of what ingredients or amounts were modified and a list of contraindications is irresponsible. I'm going to have my dermatologist provide me with a precise description of what has done the damage and why. I want a lab analysis. I'm concerned about potential scarring, slothing of the skin, and even infection since some of these areas look like the skin is weeping which means there is breakage through the barrier. I'm taking this as an indication that the manufacturer is no longer as reliable and safe for my use and will no longer use any product under the Neutragenaq label since I cannot be certain about what they are putting in them or if they are safe.

I am 50 years old. Neutrogena has never let me down yet. I am hooked on this Moisturizer. I use nightly & wake up to a super soft face & neck. Please make sure to drink water daily. I exfoliate every 3 days too. This is an untouched photo of me at 50.

I knew it wasn't me. I have really enjoyed this product for years. It was so hydrating and soothing. With the recent jar, my skin is so easily irritated. A combination of this and the hydroboost eye product gave me red circles around my eyes! It also feels tacky after instead of smooth like before. My skin is not that sensitive either, but this forumula sadly changed ruined this for me. I wish they wouldn't keep playing with things!

I find that this product works very well for moisture. Not sure how well it protects you from the sun, but still good. It has a fresh scent, absorbs well, and feels like a regular water gel.

Nah - 2 months ago, Verified purchaser
I’ve been using this daily for about 4 months now paired with the fragrance free Hydro Boost cleanser and I’m pretty sure this gel led to a rash developing on my forehead as there was a stinging sensation like the 2nd time after I used it. I’m seeing now that they just discontinued it and people think the new formula is even worse but even so I’m not so confident in purchasing this again. I also bought this thinking I’d be fragrance free but that’s on me it’s just that’s what’s most likely causing the negative reaction with my skin and this doesn’t actually contain any ingredients that would soothe eczema. It does give a smooth feeling to my skin but doesn’t help with pimple prevention and things like that.

Strong scent

3 out of 5 stars
Thumbs down graphic, would not recommend
MsTee - 2 months ago, Verified purchaser
Just as other reviews mention, the smell is strong. The scent reminds me of the scent of how a swimming pool's locker room smells, like a lingering chlorine scent. I actually thought this product was unscented when I purchased it, but then when I opened it up, I was somewhat upset because I don't use scented products on my face. After doing some research, I discovered that there was an unscented version and a scented version. The moisturizer itself does an okay job of hydrating my skin and leaves it somewhat soft. However, I have noticed more breakouts since using this product, but the fragrance might be the culprit. I might consider trying the unscented version, but I am leaning more towards trying another brand.
