Twist the applicator tip to open. If applying after shampooing, towel dry hair before use. a squeeze bottle gently to avoid excess dripping. Apply solution directly to scalp and massage in. twist applicator tip tightly after use. Before use, remove closure, remove seal and replace closure. Before use, read all label information.   • A: No, the Nizoral Scalp Anti-Itch Relief Liquid (2 fl oz) is generally designed for immediate relief of itching, irritation, and inflammation rather than directly killing the fungus itself. It contains 1% hydrocortisone for itching and aloe/hyaluronic acid for hydration. For Fungus you need the Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo (1% Ketoconazole). Ketoconazole is the ingredient that actually kills the fungus (Malassezia) responsible for seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, and related hairline fungal issues. If you have a fungal infection on the hairline, use the Nizoral Anti-Dandruff Shampoo to treat the root cause. You can use the Anti-Itch Liquid if needed for calming the discomfort.

    This seems to be a good product -it helps to relieve scalp itch for a while. a few hours. My only complaint is the 2 ounce bottle doesn't go very far, maybe two uses at the price of nearly $12-- so you have to find other options. If the bottle were 8 ounces for $12 maybe that would be a more reasonable purchase. So this is good, it works, but they priced me out of being able to use it. It is just too expensive, just like their shampoo. All of the Nizoral products are way expensive especially for the quantities you receive. Sad.

    Helps, but feels awful

    This did help bring my seborrheic dermatitis flare up down, but it feels terrible on my hair. It feels like I put shampoo in my hair and never washed it out, so it’s sticky and hard to brush. I’m giving it 4 stars just because it did serve its purpose even though it made my hair feel weird.

    Beware of the alcohol

    I thought the hydrocortisone in this would help calm my inflamed, itchy, flaky scalp. What I didn’t realize is this is an alcohol-based product. So it might help someone who has weepy, oozing irritation. For me, though, the drying effect was the opposite of what I needed and completely counteracted any positive effects of the medication.

    I actually like the product, and find that it helps with itchiness and flakiness. However, the size of the bottle, directions of applying it not more than 3 to 4 times a day (I find twice a day to be sufficient) and the cost to be a little disproportionate. The bottle should be larger considering those who have a larger area to cover, the small bottle will not last making it a little pricey for what you get.

    I've been using it for a week and don't see much of a difference yet so we'll have to see if it helps but I did want to point out two negatives which are it definitely leaves your hair feeling gross and looking greasy and you feel the need to wash your hair more, which defeats the purpose. It also smells heavily of rubbing alcohol so I checked ingredients and alcohol is there, which I was surprised because alcohol is a drying agent and you would think make itching worse.

    Absolue Miracle!!!

    I’m a young AA woman who’s been dealing with CCCA for the past year and a half. I was getting scalp injections at my dermatologist and used all prescribed medications (oral & topical) to stop my scalp irritation. But none of these treatments worked! I was still in such pain this year that I decided to just try an OTC serum and came across this.
