Q: is this on a timer? I'm wondering how to turn this on and off since it's on the top of a tree, you can't easily reach it to turn it on and off

A: No timer. it plugs into a pre-lit tree and turns off when you turn off the tree.

this is the tree topper I've been looking for all season. the only thing that could make it better would be the option to plug it into my string lights, because the battery pack is a little annoying to turn on separately.

Pretty Colorful Star Tree Topper!
This star is so pretty! Yes, it's just irisdescent cellophane covering the lights with glitter, but it's still really pretty. I like the swirled design too. The only thing I'm not sure about is the wire. It's kind of short, and also battery operated so it'll probably runs out fast and there's no timer, just off and on. I can't wait to put it on our Christmas tree.
