I am quite pleased with this product for my curly hair. I was searching for definition and strong hold, and it truly provided the cast I desired, which I then followed up with oil to break the cast.

This gel is terrible. It does not go onto your hair smoothly, it leaves your hair clumpy even if you comb it in. My hair felt sticky and got tangled within minutes. I had to wash my hair with shampoo twice to get the gel out.

Thick gel that leaves a nice cast, so if you don’t like that then you won’t like the product. Nothing to worry about though, because a little bit of oil and scrunching will fix it and leave you with defined curls! (Though I agree with others that it could be more hydrating, but it’s great for the price!)

I have heard lots of great things about this product and tried it using just a little dab knowing it was a stronghold gel. Sadly I had to wash my hair again within hours as even after scrunching out the crunch my hair was stiff and nasty.

Amazing hold, I’m on my 3rd bottle, because I love it. Although I wish it was a bit more hydrating, this works amazingly in humid weather, but in dry weather, not so much. This holds my hair for about 3-4 days!

As a 2c to 3a girlie, it has been pretty hard for me to find a good gel. Whenever I would style my hair, it would always turn out frizzy or flat. The curls at back of my hair always collapsed as the day went on, and my hair was a mess by day two. THIS GEL HAS CHANGED EVERYTHING. My hair is completely frizz free, shiny, and soft to the touch. (After I broke the gel cast.) I could not recommend this product enough.

This gel made my hair feel dry, grimy, and made it tangle in the most ridiculous fashion. I have never, ever had a product make my hair feel so disgusting- I had to wash it out after about 4 hours because I just couldn’t handle the way it felt. An absolute sensory nightmare.

The only gel in which I can air dry and have my waves looking defined! Diffusing definitely gives me the most volume and definition but I have kids so having the option to air dry and look decent is a life-changer. I would only use a tiny bit as the cast is crazy hard.

When I tell you I have finally found that unicorn and it’s not even expensive, I wanna scream it to everyone!! Hands down this is the best strong hold gel I have ever used! My hair is just below my shoulders and this product holds my curls for days!! My only issue with this product is I have to order it online. Not a single store in my area has this product, and I didn’t know it existed until recently. This gel is a game changer and makes your curls look amazing!! Scrunching out the crunch is easily done but my curls still look amazing!! It only takes about 3 tablespoons amounts for my hair, and my curls will last for days! Oh how I wish local stores carried it, but thankful I can order directly from here! Give this gel a try. You won’t be disappointed!!!

My hair absolutely hated this gel. I tried at after clarifying, conditioning and steaming my hair. What a mistake. I used very small amounts on wet hair but my hair was sticking to my shirt and to my ears before I’d even finished scrunching. And why add sodium sulfate in a product that is left in the hair. I waited one day before washing it out. I be returning it soon.

The original curl talk gel ,level 5 Hard Hold Gel was Perfect !!! Unfortunately now this new Bottle is called Flash Freeze Gel it has Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in the ingredient . My hair doesn't like the new formula. My style does not last as long, the curls are a little weigh down which means less definition and a little dry. Now I need to search for a new gel.
