I bought this product and I used it with the no damage detangler and when I woke up the next morning it was white residue and flakes in my hair. Very noticeable and now i have to wash my hair again.

I still had areas frizz but that is not to say it doesn’t work. I just have very fine hair so it can be hard to hold my natural fine hair down.

I went home and I tried it and it was the best styling gel with the best smell ever my hair gets frizzy most of the time so I need a gel to hold it down and I'm so glad I came across this product it has been the best and everybody loves the smell of it. Thanks for terrific product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the NOU Styling Gel w/ Avocado Oil, For Curly Hair for one month now along with the NOU Low Porosity Leave In Conditioner w/ Coconut Oil, For Curly & Coily Hair. I really love the ingredients .It is sulfate, paraben, and dye-free which is perfect for me . I apply after conditioning . I have long , curly hair and use about quarter sized amount . It holds my curls and is soft not crunchy at all. It has a really nice scent . If you use more you get a harder hold but I like the softness of using less product. My hair is shiney , holds nice curls and is super manageable . Great addition to my hair care routine .

Usually I use it right out of the shower, but it's also great for next day hair. I tend to mist my hair a bit with water before applying the gel and it works perfectly. I really appreciate the light, floral, clean scent as well. My favorite feature of NOU is the brand indicates what hair type the gel is perfect for on the jar, there is literally no guess work.

I used this gel twice for a sleek low ponytail. I have natural 3C hair and my hair is very thick. The gel itself is a looser consistency than most gels. After I applied the gel and styled into a ponytail, I then wrapped my hair in a scarf to help shape the style while it dried. After my hair was dry I took the scarf off and I had fly-aways all over the top of my head. I do like that the gel does not leave the hair feeling stiff and I did not experience any flaking. For my thick hair this gel does not work. It may work better for someone with less dense hair.

After her shower at night she puts gel in before wrapping it tightly in a bun on top of her head. Using the Next of Us - NOU GEL was ok. She does need a lot of it, it seemed to be a bit watery. Smoothing it into her hair & using” her squeezing technique “ the gel does get sudsy & liquify. In the morning after unwrapping her Hair She lets her hair down, it falls into place, maybe a little adjustment at the top. But good to go. Day 1 using the gel she didn’t have long enough hold. Day 2 using the gel, in the morning she added more gel as she adjusted and squeeze it and smoothed on to her hair. Not as sudsy I guess her hair wasn’t as wet so the gel didn’t suds up as much. Her hold was better for the day. Not a crunchy heavy weighed down hold but her curls looked defined.

When it comes to hair gel, I haven't used it since the 80's when it would either flake or leave my hair crazy tough and hard. On top of that, it would be difficult for me to shampoo it out. What a breath of fresh air this gel was. No flakiness or dryness, either. It was easy to use and a little goes a long way. I am transitioning to curly hair and will anticipate using this regularly

You only need a small amount to coat your hair. After allowing my hair to air dry and then diffuse once about 75% dry, my curls came out amazing!! There is a lot of volume and hold but it’s not crunchy. I am currently on day 4 hair and it still looks amazing. If you are a fan of light gels as a curl styler, I definitely recommend!!!!

I applied a dollop of this gel and it helped to strengthen and tighten my curls all day long! The gel stayed on all day until I washed my hair later in the evening. Not one curl was out of place. It also have a very nice, clean, fragrant smell. I would definitely recommend this product. AAA+++

With all the hair I usually have to use a lot of the product to get what I need. With that being said I used the same amount I normally use the fist time and well let me say my curls were locked in stiff and tight. Second time less product and perfect hold. Soft and bouncy curls was the end result. Love the way it leaves my hair smelling. A little bit of NOU goes a long way.

It has a great scent and it has a nice loose consistency great for wash and go's or twist outs. I detangled my hair and applied the gel and let my hair air dry, nothing special. The next morning my hair had defined curls and was frizz-free. I didn't experience any white flakes from drying either. I have 4A hair, and this gel worked well for me.
