    Inadequate xylitol package sealing

    I was unable to try this product because when received, the xylitol package seam on the left side had split open about one inch and a substantial amount of the xylitol spilled out all over the inside of the shipping container. NOW FOODS did refund my cost for the product after I contacted them, so I will re-order my xylitol again.

    Country of origin

    I am fine with the product. I am concerned that I can’t find its country of manufacture. I like to know that food I consume is manufactured in a country with standards and NOT CHINA. Really any country that has a reputation for high heavy metal contamination of products.

    A healthy substitute for sugar

    I have used xylitol for years because it is sweet substitute for white sugar. I prefer it be from birch, but it wasn’t available so I substituted this time. I like Now products for their quality. I have read it was good for healthy teeth and gums.

    Xylitol was recommended by the physician led weight loss program I was on years ago and I still use it as my primary sweetener. Tastes sweet with no bitter aftertaste. Great in cooking and baking.

    Xylitol meets the challenge!

    Xylitol (which is an alcohol sugar) is a good substitute for regular cain sugar with less calories, but still has acceptable taste. I can recommend this product over other substitute sugars.
