Q: On the box it shows the cord coming out of on of the legs, but the pictures online show the cord hanging down in the middle. Where is the cord located?

submitted by jennifer - 9 years ago

  • A: Hi jennifer - Complete your living room look with this stylish floor lamp! The cord comes from the top and runs down the side to keep out of sight. Thanks for stopping by! - Andrea

submitted byAndrea - 9 years ago
    Target staff support

  • A: I just completed assembling my lamp! There are small clips attached running up one leg to insert the lamp cord. If you really wanted to do a finished job with the lamp.... purchase the 3M adhesive clips designed to hold power cords along any surface. They are small and will hold the power cord snug inside the leg with the clips and keep the cord out of sight. Easy peasey.

submitted bydwsm - 9 years ago

  • A: The cord definitely hangs right down the middle. I have no idea what the Target Team Member means by "running down the side," because it just hangs straight down from center. If you wanted to kind of hide the cord you could probably tape/attach it down one leg.

submitted byremgirl - 9 years ago

  • A: The cord is in the middle of the lamp base

Q: what bulb is required for this lamp?

submitted by bob - 9 years ago

  • A: You can put in a three way but I just use a regular 60 Watt bulb.

submitted byKC - 9 years ago

  • A: Hi bob - This floor lamp works best with a 3-way 50/100/150 watt CFL bulb. Thanks! - Philip

submitted byPhilip - 9 years ago
    Target staff support

  • A: Forget the CFL lamp! Use a 3 level LED lamp instead as it will be cheaper to operate, offer better lighting overall and you can switch between room lighting to sunlight to ambient level (soft and low). Nothing is mentioned in any of the Target descriptions mentions using LED lamps. CFL lamps are already being phased out of use as the LEDs are more functional overall for the consumer. Look for soft or sunlight, there are the best to use!

Q: Description says it has metal hardware. What color is the metal, silver, brass, etc.? Thank you

submitted by JohnBoy - 10 years ago

  • A: It's brassy, but not overly bright! Perfectly mid-century and lovely!

submitted byMadiDavis - 9 years ago

  • A: It's a lightly burnished brass, very attractive and in no way too "brassy" looking. This is a great lamp!

submitted byMrsKing - 10 years ago

  • A: Suggest that the legs and metal ware be dissembled for a short term but worthwhile project. Take time to clean down the wood work and refinish with a better combination stain and sealer to enhance the appearance of the legs. As for the brass, be careful not to over polish the metal or perhaps the patina may rub off with no hope of repair. The design of the lamp is interesting and will blend in well in any room setting! Adding a little extra "shine" will keep the lamp shining for years.

Q: What is the weight of the full lamp? Is it sturdy enough?

submitted by jcrouch18 - 10 years ago

  • A: Hi - Great taste! This good looking lamp is pretty unique. We've double checked, it weighs approximately 6 and a half pounds. Hopefully this helps your decision. Have a great afternoon. -Michael

submitted byMichael - 10 years ago
    Target staff support

  • A: No idea - 15 lbs? It's light enough to pick up and move around the room, but sturdy enough that you don't think you're going to break it while moving around the room. I really love this piece -- it's stylish (midcentury modern) and super affordable.

submitted byblessmanja - 10 years ago

  • A: The lamp is only 3-4 pounds but very stable.  It is beautiful and stylish too!  Very happy with my purchase.

submitted byjerseymom - 10 years ago

Q: What color is the lamp shade? In some photos it looks white and others it looks off-white.

submitted by ecrise - 10 years ago

  • A: The one we purchased is white.

submitted byjgannon - 10 years ago

  • A: it's off-white

submitted bynotyourlunchbox - 10 years ago

  • A: It is more of an off-white. Closer to white than those that appear super-off-white. The type of lightbulb can also affect what color it looks like.

submitted bybiff - 10 years ago

Q: Hi, is there one bulb or two? Thx!

submitted by Socalmeghan - 10 years ago

  • A: There is one bulb.  Beautiful lamp.  Easy to put together.

submitted byMoney - 10 years ago

  • A: There is one 3-way bulb needed for the Tripod lamp.

submitted byMary - 10 years ago

  • A: The lamp only requires one bulb. Bulbs are not included.

    submitted byjoann12 - 10 years ago

Q: What is the finish of the metal on the legs?

submitted by Elizabeth - 9 years ago

  • A: Hello Elizabeth - The Oak Wood Tripod Floor Lamp is perfect for creating a warm and cozy living space. The metal on the legs is brass. Enjoy shopping our floor lamp collection. - Yamell

  • A: It's a nice, toned down brass. This is a Great lamp!

submitted byMrsKing - 9 years ago

Q: I just assembled the Oak finish tripod lamp, but it looks cockeyed. I'm not sure if the problem is that the wooden tripod part is slanted, or if the problem is with the lamp harp.

submitted by peggytaf - 9 years ago

  • A: Mine looks crooked too, always has :/ Not sure what the solution is though.

submitted bylindseykelly - 9 years ago

  • A: You may have put a mix matched leg together. They were labeled a b c

submitted byNick - 9 years ago

Q: I see the max wattage is 150, can i use another wattage bulb on this lamp?

submitted by obijohnkenobi - 9 years ago

  • A: The UL rating for the lamp socket is 150 watts maximum! You can use any wattage lamp lower than that maximum number to enjoy the lighting. Also, look for the new LED lamps - they provide more enjoyment by providing a standard room level of light, the second level of being an outdoor sunlight and finally the third level is a lower - softer evening color of the end of a beautiful summer sunset. So much in choice with a three way LED bulb! Forget the compact flourscent lamps, they are being phased out and not as efficient these days.

submitted bydwsm - 9 years ago

  • A: Yes. The bulb I have is an energy efficient 60w.

submitted bywatchjomve - 9 years ago

Q: Does this have a switch?

submitted by ren - 10 years ago

  • A: Yes, it has a 3 way switch

submitted byMichele - 10 years ago

  • A: Hi Ren - Thanks for asking! This lamp does have a 3-way Rotary switch. Have a great day! - Matt

Love how it’s perfect in the corner of my house at the shore. It’s a subtle coastal upgrade, Taller than most. HOWEVER, it seems like the legs are unstable and the legs seemed bowed where they join together. I didn’t return cause it looks like the perfect style for my home and didnt want to take apart.. Wish it had been on sale for the small defects or a discount given, but I didn’t try. Still love Target!

Super cute! Just not worth full price...

Now listen the lamp itself is very cute! It’s just not worth $140 bucks! I would totally buy this on sale but it’s not worth full price for what you get. The look is very cute, brass with a nice walnut color but it’s just not super high quality. I do like that the wood actually looks like wood though instead of just brushed packing lol.

very cheap product with expensive pricetag. so wobbly, junky feeling, falls over with a sneeze. it's best behind furniture so you don't accidentally touch it. I like the way it looks, but $140 is outrageous for a piece of junk. I bought this for $100 back in 2023.

    $140 FOR A LAMP?

$140 for a floor lamp is literally insane. I bought these same lamps several years ago and they were $70. This is crazy to charge DOUBLE for a lamp only a few years later. Trust me, they aren’t worth that price.

Very poor overall quality. Not stable on the tripod legs, must work legs in and out to make lamp level. Poor chipped cuts on the leg assembly pieces. Most annoying is the 3 way switch which does not move through the 3 wattage settings with the specified 3 way LED bulb. Not worth the cost. Avoid.

    Wonky

Once assumbled the lamp looks good, but the process was tricky. In theory this is really easy to put together. That is if the pieces actually fit. One piece did not fit at all and I had to take a kitchen knife and wittle the wood down to make it fit. Also one of the metal edges on the feet just spins while the others are solid. This lamp is wobbly. If it wasn't going in a quiet corner where it won't be touched, I probably would not keep it. Also I got it on sale (40% off) but I'm still not sure it was worth it because of the hassle putting pieces together.

    Great lamp.. poor customer service

We love the lamp but the finial was stripped. Asked Target to replace just tge finial so I didn’t have to bring the entire floor lamp back but after pushback decided the easiest solution was to buy one. Disappointed with the lack of customer service.
