I was really hopeful this would work, but it was totally ineffective. I honestly think I had more bug bites after using this. I coated my legs four times and was still attacked.

Not a scientist, but I think the effectiveness might depend on the type of mosquito or time of year. I've used this for years for my sensitive skin and some years it works great and some years I might as well use nothing because it does nothing to repel the mosquitos. This year it has been working great. It doesn't irritate my skin like DEET products and is mostly effective.

The only two times I've been eaten alive this summer was when I used this spray (I concentrated the spray around my legs and feet). I wanted to like it so badly! It seems to do the opposite though.

Returned it because I didn't love the very strong scent. Decided on the Off Clean Feel Repellent instead. It has no odor and no sticky or greasy feel.

This smells more like essential oil than insect repellent.

Sometimes the scents from these bug sprays can be overpowering and this one is not. It's sprays on even (I still rubbed it in some) and is not greasy. I would buy this product again.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. We got a lot of bugs out at night where we live so a good bug repellent is a must! My husband went out one night at around 8pm to do some yard work and so we sprayed this all over his arms and legs. He absolutely loved that it had no harsh smell, he could barely feel it on his skin and he didn't get bit by any bugs! Being the one who sprayed him I also loved that there was no smell, that's always the worst part about bug repellent! The only thing about this plant-based bug repellent is that you may have to spread it evenly over your skin with your hands which seems a little counterproductive because I use it for when I go outside and if I spread it with my hands I have to go back inside to wash my hands before I can go outside again. Overall though, it's worth it for not having to deal with the nasty normal bug repellent smell. I highly recommend this product!

Botanicals plant based repellant has a nice light scent and is not super greasy like other more natural based repellant we have tried. It is easy to spray, my kids don't complain about it, and it actually works! I am outside several hours a day and have not had a bite yet since receiving this product.

Although, I started sweating outside and could feel a tingling sensation on my skin where I had sprayed it. While I didn't mind it I don't think my kids would like that.

As we approached the river, we saw lots of mosquitos and biting flies swarming around, but we didn't get bit once! A few hours later and after swimming in the river, we hiked back to the car. We got bit numerous times on the way back, most likely due to the water washing off the spray in the river. Lesson learned: reapply after getting wet! Would definitely recommend this product to others looking for more natural bug-repellent products!
I will buy product if in larger quantity.
