Summary of reviews
These oats are praised for their versatility in baking and cooking, with many guests finding them comparable to more expensive name brands. However, some guests experienced issues with packaging, taste, and occasional insect contamination. Overall, they are considered a good value for the price, especially for those who use oats frequently.

Broke Open

It broke open during shipping so now there are wasted oats. Would be ideal if the container was sealed properly or was more secure

Lid is single use! Why?!

Why in the world is the lid single use?! Once you open it, you are forced to find a container to hold 42oz. of oats. Terrible design.
Cancelled item

Why was the oatmeal cancelled. Oatmeal was my reason for making the order. If it weren't availabe, why didn't it snow it was unavailable when I selected it. I could have requested Quaker Oats. Not happy dorothy
Mushy

Super mushy. I made overnight oats with these the same way I normally do with Quaker oats and they came out super mushy

Ive been buying the 42 oz sixe of thhhis for years until they discontinued it for shipping. This order of the 18 oz size was half filled with what looks like quick oats, the ground up kind which I don't like. I'll give them another try in awhile and update this review if they are all old fashioned oats again.

They’re always opened. I have to buy my oats elsewhere from now on. Thank you Target for always listening.

If you’re used to Quaker Oats, this substitute won’t do. Tastes like it has metal or some chemical in it. Bought the big size because of above ratings and I eat a lot of Oatmeal, but this doesn’t taste the way Oatmeal should. Don’t recommend for cookies either. Really Disappointed! Not recommended.

These oats are great for baking and cooking. I use them to make granola, cookies and apple crisp. The large size lasts awhile.

I purchased this from a Target store a couple of weeks ago and had to throw out everything in my pantry afterward. The day after purchasing it, I went to make my kids breakfast, and it was like out of a horror movie when I opened it. Hundreds of flour beetles crawling in the container. I immediately threw it out but found a couple had escaped out the bottom. I started seeing a couple for the next few days and eventually followed the advice online about throwing out everything. I do not recommend.

I bought a 42 oz container using shipt. The oats themselves are fine, but the container is shockingly badly designed. Practically no one would ever use 42 oz of oats at once, but the lid is a single-use lid. In order to open it, you lift a tab that then cuts around the lid and makes it impossible to use it again to close the container. No, it's not particularly difficult to transfer the oats to a different container, or to put a bag around the original open container.... but one shouldn't need to do that. This container is so breathtakingly asinine that it singlehandedly brought my rating down to a single star.

Oats are excellent, but the 42-oz cannister barely survives shipping. Suggestion to mfr: Omit the second plastic top lid w/pour opening and instead add a permanent, more secure plastic bottom. When shipped, the bottom of the cardboard 42-oz cannister is always caved in and oats are leaking out.
