I buy this product all the time and the last 3 it only lasts not even 3 days I have to cut the bottom to get the rest of it not good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although this isn't my favorite cold sore treatment, this did a good job in preventing cracking. I found I had to apply it quite frequently though. I don't think it reduced the duration of the cold sore. It's a pretty good lip balm though even when you don't have an outbreak.

I get cold sores all the time!! And I’ve tried everything. My cold sore usually swell up and spread, but this surprised me! My lip never swelled up. It’s so small you can hardly see it. It’s not itchy or painful. I can actually speak and eat which is one of the things I have a hard time doing with my sore outbreak. It’s a bit expensive but well worth every dollar. The little tube goes a long way. I would recommend this and the other product they have. Thank you orajel for making this a bit easier on me.

I used to have to take antibiotics for my breakouts, but usually the sores would still cover part of my lip and stretch partway down to my chin. I had to go through an aggressive series of antibiotics because it had gotten so out of control. This past winter, it started to become more frequent and progressively worse. About the third breakout, all I was looking for was something to numb my lip for the next couple weeks. Cold sore creams never did anything for me in the past and it was past the cutoff time for taking antibiotics. I had an app with my new doctor the following week to set up a prescription. I really wasn't expecting much when I bought it, but the following day I cancelled my appointment. It did everything it says it does. Now, I swear by this stuff. Three months after first use, only two more breakouts. Cold sores used to cover half of my bottom lip and stretch halfway down my chin. My piano teacher once stormed over to me and demanded to know who hit me because of how bad my lip looked. It does still get swollen and usually breaks, but it doesn't spread out anymore, there's little blood, little pus, the scab doesn't crack, very little skin tears off, it goes away and heals faster, and there's only a little pain. I'm amazed.

I went to the drugstore to buy your well known competition when I found this. After reading ingredients, (I am an RN...so ingredients matter)- what it's actions are - I bought this; knowing that the competition never seems to do much. The relief and appearance was immediate on first use, and it seems to be containing it - not spreading as they usually do. It's only been two days of use....so there's still time, but so far it is the best product I've ever found for cold sores.
