I make Thai and Indian curries on a regular basis with canned coconut milk. I decided to give this a try. I have used it a handful of times now. I don't personally have an issue with the taste for savory dishes like some mention. But I do have a problem that no matter how much I shake the can as it instructs you to do, the contents inside are very solid. Each time, I had to pour it into a separate bowl and aggressively whip it to break it down. I appreciate that it's creamy, but this is the only brand of canned coconut milk I've ever used that was so incredibly solid. It makes me think of solidified wax from a candle.

This is genuinely terrible and ruined my coconut rice. I would rather eat plain rice than anything cooked with this!

This is the best coconut milk I’ve used! I don’t like coconut flavored products at all but I use coconut milk when I make curry. I’ve tried several different ones and this is hands down the best! I’m even tempted to try it in maybe a smoothie or something.

i was surprised when I opened the can- it's weirdly thick. I like to cook with coconut milk, but find coconut drinks disgusting. I made my regular Thai squash curry soup and will most likely throw it out as it has an oddly sweet and aggressive taste. kind of like suntan lotion. if you like coconut cream you'll like it.

This is my favorite of canned coconut milks. This brand is thick all they way through. It is almost like a can of coconut cream. So, if you are using a recipe that calls for putting the can in the fridge and seperating the cream you might not need that extra step. I have rarely gotten any water in the cans i've used. It works great in the sweet and savory recipes i've used them in.

I think buyers have a misconception of what canned coconut milk should be - it is NOT the same as refrigerated coconut milk. Canned coconut milk (or any kind really) is used for cooking and baking. This canned coconut milk is perfect - creamy and with minimal ORGANIC ingredients. I made a coconut pudding cake with this, substituting regular milk with 1/2 regular and 1/2 this can, and it came out EXQUISITELY. Also, I recommend people do the research on ingredients and don’t just take what random posters are speaking about. I’m speaking about the guar gum ingredient, it is from guar beans, and it is completely safe in minimal amounts (Reminder: ANYTHING in excess amounts is bad. Even water!). But, don’t listen to me, just do your own research.

I’m confused by the negative reviews for this milk and wondering if people are reviewing the right product or know what they were getting. This product represents coconut milk pretty well IMO. The paper cartons of coconut milk you get are full of extras. Anyways I got the unsweetened coconut milk and thought it was great. I was afraid it would be really thick since I usually get a light coconut milk. I shook the van and tasted it by itself when I opened it. It wasn’t sweet and tasted like it says : unsweetened coconut milk. It was creamy and thick but still pourable. I used it to drizzle on top of a dessert and to eat with chia. I did not use it in a savory dish so cannot comment about that. I’d buy this again if I needed coconut milk from target. Otherwise I get the light coconut milk from Whole Foods brand for chia pudding.

I thought this would be more like a milk and it definitely wasn’t. It’s pretty solid and chunky. It’s also not organic since it has guar gum.

Guar gum is frequently used as a food additive in many processed foods In large amounts, guar gum may be harmful and can cause negative side effects Guar gum is widely used throughout the food industry. The following foods often contain it * ice cream * yogurt * salad dressing * gluten-free baked goods * gravies * sauces * kefir * breakfast cereals * vegetable juices * pudding * soup * cheese Makes you wonder how much is a large amount when they put this stuff in all of our foods and call it organic!
