A: No, the shade does not come in custom cut sizes. It is not recommended to shorten the shade because it will damage the operating mechanism and void the manufacturers warranty.

Q: How can I secure the bottom when the shade us all the way down to keep it from blowing around?

A: The shade includes a wind tie down, but we recommend during very windy or extreme weather condition to roll up the shade or take down the shade to prevent shade damage.

Q: How does the top of this shade attach? I have one from 4 yrs ago and it has 4 triangular clips that can hook on to a cup hook or nail.

Q: Installed with the pins it came with;wind blew the shade down. Handyman bought closed metal pins and closed rings to secure it. How can I secure the shade when 40-50 mph winds are predicted?

I finally put this up but I'm not to sure how this will hold up with these little plastic s hooks- don't think they will against a windy day, cost too much for these being plastic

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shades are pretty good for my back porch application. At first, I was worried about having to raise and lower them "manually", i.e. there's no pull cord or rotating wand to quickly put them up or down. This turns out not to be such a great hindrance though as they can generally remain in one favored position. They can then be adjusted every so often for -- a special occasion, a change of weather, etc. They may also be a little easier to install than the wand variety as they simply hang on a few hooks. Although holes must be drilled for these hooks the wand shades, on the other hand, require putting up end brackets. Otherwise, these shades, manual & wand, have the same PVC makeup/design. So, manual's the simplest way to go whereas wand-operated is a bit fancier.

This item does not have any strings where you can raise and lower the blind. It has some sort of clips that you have to insert to keep it at the level you want it. Like you really want to climb a ladder every time you want to raise or lower it. Ridiculous. This is going back
