Q: I have silicon basting brushes and they work great for thinner sauces, but I need one for a thicker glaze for a ham. Is this brush floppy or would it work and stay firm for this type of sauce?

Awesome basting brush! Much better than the classic wood handle with natural bristles. This basting brush has two sets of bristles--rubber ones on the outsides and a grid structure in the middle to capture the sauce. Easy to clean--dishwasher safe.

This is at least twice as large as the one I was replacing for my wife. She nor I feel this is useful. It might be good for basting a turkey or something that large but is too big to be useful for basting rolls or biscuits. (Possibly useful for paint the trim in the kitchen ;-))

The brush works great. Does what I need it to do, which is spread liquids on my food. I mostly use it to give sliced potatoes a thin coating of olive oil before roasting. Occasionally, I use it to spread my homemade cinnamon rum sauce onto cinnamon rolls. I bought 2 brushes just in case one was dirty while the other needed to be used. We run them through the dishwasher, I think the label said it was dishwasher safe, and they're fine. Old basting brushes I used always shed bristles, usually into the food. Haven't had that happen yet and don't expect to.

I love this brush, heat resistant so I can brush butter or oil on hot items right out of the oven. Love that it’s dishwasher safe and this is way better than the traditional brush I had before where the bristles got all gross. Use it for pie crust, cookies, turkey, chicken so many things!

I ordered this online and the brush came apart when I picked it up in the box. I put it back together and it seemed to be fine. But while using it, it fell apart. I'm sure it'll be fine if I glue the 2 pieces together, but definitely not worth the money I paid. I waited to long to use the brush after receiving it.

This brush works better than expected for egg washing, glazing, and finishing pastries and breads. I was tired of picking bristles off of my breads and this silicone brush eliminates that issue. It doesn’t apply the liquid quite as gently as a bristle brush, but being a little more careful with delicate proofed breads is worth the peace of mind that nobody will chomp down on a “hair.” I also love how easy it is to clean and won’t harbor bacteria like a wet brush.
