Nice product
It went together fairly easily and is of high quality. It functions very well, holds our files with plenty of space, very accessible and is a nice looking piece of furniture.

Worst Piece of Furniture I Ever Bought
The cabinet was not difficult to assemble and I have purchased Sauder products many times. This cabinet, however, is misaligned and the drawer slides do not even reach the cabinet slides so they constantly fall out. If this is today's quality from Sauder it will be my last purchase from them.

Easy instructions, nice product
Only one problem was drawer sides. Grooves on one drawer side wete hi too tight to slide front brackets in easily.

Lovely finished product
The finished product is very nice, it's well made and very sturdy. I would caution any novice builders that the skill level is quite difficult, this was the hardest one I've ever built.

Looks high quality
I have purchased many Sauder Furniture pieces over the years. This does not measure up to the long established quality. After assembly, the bearings on one drawer slide fell apart when I first slid in the drawer. Now the slide on the other side is also broken.

I would give 4-1/2 stars only because some of the construction could be better Examples: all screws should be countersunk to prevent any catching the edge of screws. The drawer sides were not flush on both sides, top to bottom-front to back. Some were some not. When I build the executive desk that is coming, I will use glue and possibly more angle brackets for sturdiness. Overall. We love it

I wish it were actual wood veneer
I bought a large 60" TV credenza from Leick Home just before I bought your file cabinet. The credenza has real wood veneer and it also was much easier to assemble. The file cabinet is OK but it had a lot of parts and was somewhat difficult to assemble and I am a 70 year old electrical and mechanical engineer with extensive experience doing mechanical and electrical assembly and repair and very skilled with tools. I could see how regular people would really struggle with this product.

Good Quality; Assembly Medium
This piece has a home in my home office. The anti-tipping mechanism works well, and the drawers slide in and out easily. Alignment did require some disassembly and realignment (about an hour's work). Not crazy about the use of small nails to attach the back, which is a structural component. Making the alignment adjustments required pulling almost all of those nails back out, then putting them all back in again. But overall, if someone needed a lateral file, I can recommend this one without reservations.

It looks nice, but was hard to get the drawers to line up.
This file cabinet looks nice, but the drawers were hard to get to line up and roll properly. They still don't roll smoothly. They keep getting stuck. It's hard to open and close.

Great product but.......
Love this file cabinet. Plenty of room for years of files. Purchased a new one due to damage on the last one by a recent flood. The product itself is great . However, the assembly instructions left me scratching my head. Some steps were not fully detailed having me go back to redo some steps.Still came out fine but it was a little frustrating.

Looks beautiful when assembled
This lateral file comes in one box at 100 lbs. I needed a hand and truck to move it around. Well packed with lots of Styrofoam, but bits get all over the place. I'd say I spent about 5 hours for assembly. Instructions are pretty good, but you need to follow step by step verifying you are working with the right parts, right or left, correct side up, correct screw, etc. it's easy to assume too much and do something wrong. Finish tightening by hand or risk stripping the particle board. Also hard on the back as it's a bit awkward and heavy. Looks like nice furniture when done.
