Q: To prevent pregnancy stretch marks, when can I start using this product?

submitted by Madison - 2 years ago
  • A: Dear Madison, thank you for your question. It's best to use our Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks before your skin begins to stretch. Hydrating your abdomen, when you first learn your pregnant, can only help prevent stretch marks in the coming months. Of course, it will still help your skin become more elastic and supple anytime you decide to care for the areas affected by weight gain, but will it will be the most effective if you start early.

Q: Does it make the stretch marks go away? Or does it just lighten the color and visibility?

submitted by Brittanny - 3 years ago
  • A: Dear Brittanny, Thank you for your question. Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks advanced formulation, with vitamin E, Lutein, Argan Oil, Coconut, as well as Cocoa Butter, softens, smoothes, and conditions your skin to reduce the appearance of stretch marks. Since stretch marks are a form of scarring, and scarring is actual damage to the dermis itself, nothing can make scaring totally disappear, what can be done is to to help them fade and be less noticeable.

Q: How long does it take to get rid of stretch marks using this product?

submitted by Sophia - 3 years ago
  • A: Hello Sophia, and thank you for your question. The amount of time it takes for Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks to improve the appearance of stretch marks depends on the severity of your stretch marks. It's impossible to pin point the amount of time for each individual. Results also depend on how consistent you are using the product. While some people see results in weeks, others may take months to see improvement. However, in consumer tests 98% of people tested showed improvement in skin elasticity, texture, and tone with use.

This no longer smells like the classic Palmer's cocoa butter lotion. It almost has this very light floral-y scent. I hate it. I won't be repurchasing...as a pregnant woman, I was literally craving to smell the classic cocoa butter scent and was deeply dissapointed. I see I'm not the only one who feels this way...Palmer's...listen to your customer. We LIKED the scent before. Now it's icky. Go back to your old formula please. Does it work? I don't know...but I used their old forumula for years and loved it.

Weird film?

I’ve tried this twice from two different samples and both times it started to pill up and roll off in weird little waxy balls/strings like it just made a wax film all over my belly. My skin doesn’t even feel moisturized at all. I feel like none of it absorbed. I have no idea why anyone has recommended this product to me.

Thank you for your feedback! Pilling of lotion can occur for a few reasons and there are some easy fixes to prevent this from happening. 1) Exfoliate -sometimes pilling is the result of dead skin cell buildup so exfoliating can help smooth out texture. 2) Cut Back- when moisturizer balls up it be a result of applying too much product. Try using a thinner application amount 3) Take your time- Pilling can occur when you layer products on too quickly, so if you are using with another product makes sure to give it time to absorb before applying a layering formulation. We hope that these suggestions help!

Bring back the cocoa smell!!!! It was the reason i used to only buy this one! And the feeling of it. Now it just piles on the skin when you rub it and it’s not from dry skin I applied after exfoliate and it still happens and the smell is completely not the same as it used to be the new formula literally ruin the product.

Thank you for your feedback! The fragrance was updated to a lighter scent that is ideal for sensitive noses during pregnancy and disappears quickly on your skin. You Don't Mess With Perfection!

I first purchased the Palmer's Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks six years ago, not for pregnancy but for surgical scars. It had all the ingredients my dermatologist recommended and was a lot cheaper than surgical scar creams and lotions. It worked so well you have to look for the scars to even see them. The same results for a second surgery I had so I kept on using it. I recommended the Palmer's to everyone, even told my doctors about it. Now the new formula doesn't work as well, nor smell good anymore. Why oh why do companies keep changing a perfect product and ruin it? I will no longer buy this product as I am tired of waiting for Palmer's to fix the problems and restore the old formula. If saving money was the motivation for the formula change bad move. You will have lost more money in former customers and lost recommendations.

Thank you for your feedback! We are sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your experience with the updated Cocoa Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks. We are always striving to improve our formulas and we are very excited about our this enhanced formula. We did change the fragrance as part of that reformulation making it a light scent that disappears quickly on your skin.

For starters, it smells bad. but ok I gave it a chance, I started to put the lotion on my belly, and I started to see white pieces of the lotion as if it were glue, it took me longer to clean the mess that was made on my pregnant belly than what I spread this lotion. I definitely won't buy it again and hopefully I can get my money back.

This stuff has saved me from stretch marks through multiple pregnancies. I just put a little bit on every day and it keeps my skin looking and feeling great. Has a mild shea butter smell to it but that’s about it. It isn’t crazy expensive or anything, but I’d still say it was well worth the money.

I started using this product around week 20 of my pregnancy. I am currently 36 weeks with my first baby and I have NO STRETCH MARKS. I 100% know that this product works because I tested it on my belly and my breasts. I would use it twice a day on my belly (after my morning shower, and then before I went to bed). And I would use it after my morning shower on my breasts. I wanted to only do it once a day on my breasts to see if it actually worked. I ended up getting stretch marks on my breasts, but never on my belly. The trick is to use it at least 2x per day, everywhere you don’t want stretch marks, and reallllly lay it on there thick. Don’t ever let your belly skin get dry. I’ve started using it twice a day on my breasts, and it’s very quickly getting rid of those stretch marks. So this product works like a charm!! Make sure you’re putting it all over where you don’t want stretch marks: breasts, belly, butt, thighs, hips, etc. I absolutely adore my perfectly round and stretch mark free belly. All thanks to Palmers!!!
