these pens used to be my favorite go to and amazing. recently i feel like they changed them because there is clearly ink in the tube but it doesn’t write and only works when it wants to.

Almost all of the pens are unreliable. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don’t. Some of the colors were also very light/dim/dull compared to expectations. Overall they don’t fulfill the need for coloring pens, and I’m looking to buy different ones

really enjoy the different colors and it doesn't smear when I write as a left-hander. It seems that some pens are not made equally. Some pens glide really smooth and have a good amount of ink coming out, others skip and it feels like the ink is stuck and there's barely coming out.

I came on here to read reviews to see if anyone else had a similar experience with these pens or if I just got a bad batch. Turns out everyone agrees the quality just sucks. I've had these pens for ages and they are mostly all still full of ink (which, yes, you can SEE because the barrel has a transparent window!!) and yet every. single. time. without fail, when I pick one up and start writing, the tip stops putting out ink within a few words. It's absolutely infuriating to be able to see the ink, to shake the pen and take it apart and do anything you can think of, and yet it refuses to write. It's so sad. The few words I was able to get out were absolute bliss, the color was vibrant and beautiful and then out of nowhere I was blindsided, the beauty was over. A pen is supposed to do ONE thing, which is write, so if it can't do that, it's essentially worthless and a scam. I guess they look pretty when I lay them out in rainbow order but c'mon man, they're pens.

I used to love these pens, I’m not sure what is wrong with them now. Some of them refused to write consistently and evenly straight out of the box. The rest lasted a few weeks before they started fading, even though you can still clearly see there is ink in the barrel, which is transparent. Also, some of them write much finer than the tip is supposed to write. The colors are great, but these are so inconsistent and the quality has gotten poor.

I bought these because at the time there were so many good reviews but these are absolutely terrible. the colors ? beautiful. how it writes ? absolutely disgusting. these pens are hot and cold, they’ll work perfectly for the beginning half of your sentence & then slowly start to fade out until it writes nothing at all. my favorite is when it just stops mid word, mid lecture note taking & you have to switch out to a slightly different color and just hope it doesn’t go out too. would not recommend to absolutely anyone. the only reason i’m even writing this is because one of these pens literally just gave out on me & this product came up as a “buy it again” recommendation on my search for new pens.

here's the thing. I love a good pen. I'm obsessed with pens. PaperMate felt tip pens? incredible. this is why I was thrilled to try out these seemingly wonderful gel pens. but I do not recommend. while the colors are very enticing and the brand has quite a good reputation in the pen world, these do not write well. I was sitting in philosophy taking notes this morning and not one, not two, but THREE pens stopped writing on me for no reason. it was a catastrophe. I planned a color-coded note system and everything. there's still ink in them - I can see it. but for some reason, these pens routinely disappoint me by simply not writing. I try to shake the ink down, but to no avail. this has happened to me many a time. so overall, I wouldn't invest in the gel version of PaperMate pens. or maybe I just got a bad batch. idk. either way I'm very saddened by their lack of proficiency and thus I do not recommend these pens. :/ get the felt-tip ones tho - those are fabulous. have a nice day.

These pens are such a waste of money. I can’t even write a full sentence before the ink just stops. It’s not just one either, it’s every color. They skip or are just dried out all together. I waited too long to return so these with just have to be trashed.

I was hoping to love these but I just can’t because all the pens I got have been skipping and it looks horrible when I have to go over it a couple of times, I guess I must have gotten a default package, if everyone else’s work great.
