A: More scratchy. It's a nice rug, but it's not soft on your feet.

Strong chemical odor
This is a very heavy, jute rug that adds a lot of texture and warmth to a room. As described, it is very chunky. Upon opening, there was a very strong chemical odor which was disappointing - I checked the description prior to ordering for a California prop warning, and there isn’t one. It does say it is stain resistant, so I don’t know if a chemical was applied! There was a fair amount of initial shedding. It is moderately scratchy and not soft, but is thick and comfortable to walk on. I like the variation in fiber colors. I wish there was more transparency regarding why it smells.

A Very Soft Jute. Easy on the Feet and Pretty
I have only had these for about 4 months (short time) in Hawaii, but i must say, thus far they are dream come true for a jute rug! They are most pleasing to the feet and not harsh like most of the heavy prickly rope rugs that i find a turn off. to step into. Everyone loves them that comes. Now..... how long they will last?.... i dont know, but for a 1/2 price Jute rug, I dont care . I simply love them. they are pretty and SOO comfy! My two kids AND my two Pit Bulls seem to have no problems with them at all thus far ..as far as them holding up anyways We will see how it goes . Kids , Dogs and Life... its tough on everything

Find a different rug!
Absolutely love the look & feel of the natural jute, but despise the amount of shedding from this rug. Vacuumed one to two times a day for months. Was hoping that over time the shedding would decrease... eight months later & no such luck. Rug began unraveling in several sections after only four months. Wanted the reviews to be wrong. Functionality/durability 0/10 :'(

Wanted to like it
It has a nice heavy feel to it; but the weave is so loose that it would never lay right. It would stretch out and never remain in a nice rectangular shape. It sheds really bad as well. I ended up returning it bc it was too much of a hassle.

Pretty but makes such a mess!
It looks very nice, heavy material. However, I’ve had it about a month now and it makes such a big mess. No matter how much I clean it, it never stops shedding. I ended up putting it outside in my patio. The debris it leaves behind makes the tile surrounding it very slippery so be careful. It’s not worth the hassle.

Quality issue in weave
I like the feel of the rug, but it is unraveling in a few spots. I didn’t catch when I left unrolled it and it is a hassle to try to ship back for return.

Disappointed
The rug arrived rolled and nether end would lie flat. I was unable to fully open a nearby door over the rug as the threshold was not high enough. I had to return it…disappointing.

Exactly as expected
I love the size and weight of this rug. It feels as one would expect — the material is a little rough (not a complaint), but thick so there is an element of cushion. We’re a three [large] dog family, so I think it will be durable for years to come and looks great! I gave it four stars for quality/value only because I got it on sale and think that’s the price that reflects my personal review.

nice rug
It's very soft under bare feet and adds a fair amount of padding (our dogs now choose to lay on the ground, which they never really did before). My puppy did pull up some of the threads, so if you have curious pets that might happen but I tucked them in so you can't tell. This rug does shed/cause more dust than a wool rug does, but that's to be expected from natural fiber rugs. I would definitely purchase this again.
