Q: the chair legs don't have a pre-drilled hole for the support ring. How far from the ground should the holes be? The instructions do not specify

A: Maybe that should depend on your height and where your feet feel comfortable resting. I would make sure the height is the same on all chairs, if you ordered more than one.
