Great little fountain

Quality Filters - these work best!
I have purchased others from different sites, but these are the most reliable. They cost a little more than the off brand, but I find that these work better.

Doggie Heaven
Our Pagoda watering dish by Petsafe was a gift when we brought our pup home. She absolutely refuses any other water dish, even when we are camping...fortunately the river water is safe for drinking!

Good product.
These foam filters keep pet fur and dust out of the water pump. I rinse them out and reuse them in the cleaned out dish. I no longer use the carbon filters as they were not effective and more often than not deteriorated in the bowl. My home has a whole house water purification system.

Strange odor
I have been using a Drinkwell Ceramic Fountain for years. I purchase the foam filters and have never had an issue. The last box I purchased has a strange odor on the new filters. I have tried rinsing them and the smell does not go away. My cats won't drink from the fountain. I hope this is just a one time issue.

Necessary but overpriced.
While these filters are a necessary part of the fountain system to keep it clean, I think they are overpriced for a couple pieces of foam.

Filters work well
I noticed (and heard) the fountain was operating sluggishly, so I took it apart and discovered that I was well overdue replacing the filters as they were clogged and frankly, a bit gross. My cat loved the fountain and also, since it's in my bedroom it's kind of nice to hear the "white noise" of the water gurgling while I'm falling asleep. My cat uses this constantly - the sound of the water attracts her. BTW I only use filtered water out of the refrigerator (I operate on a well in a rural area) to help protect her kidneys. As soon as I replaced the filters the fountain commenced working as new.

THIS PRODUCT IS INGENIOUS!!
I have had long hair cats for decades. Before I got this product, the cat hair would get caught in the fountain pump necessitating taking apart the pump and cleaning it. Sometimes this required taking a tweezer and trying to fish out the fur from the impeller. THIS PRODUCT IS INGENIOUS!! This catches all the fur because it gets caught on the foam filter. Before these appeared online to purchase I was rewashing the one that came with the bowl. Finally, after about a year, it began to fall apart. I checked the website again these were available. I ordered a few immediately.
