I like most things about the shaver but I would have preferred that the charging lead would have not been exclusive to the shaver. If lost or damaged I can't use any other lead. The pressure sensor is a little to sensitive making it almost impossible to get anywhere near 100%. The rotation sensor is much better. Overall I am happy with this product.

I am a long time Philips Norelco rotary shaver user so when my old one (10+ years) started to show battery deterioration issue I bought a new Philips Shaver. Specifically I bought model XP9400 / 89. This comes with the shaver, a UV charger and a trimmer attachment, a small brush plus the charging cord. The shaver has a lot of features. First the good. This shaver uses the same blades as my last one (Model S9721) so I didn't need to go through any "break-in" learning to use the shaver. This new model has lights that are designed to teach you how to move the shaver and how much pressure to use. If you are new to this type shaver you may find them useful. I did not after a couple of times using them. I turned them off because I believe they will contribute some to faster battery drain. This also means I don't use the app while shaving for the same reason. The app is useful to "set-up" the shaver to your desired personal needs. Beyond that I'm not a fan. How does it shave? Great. Like my past Philips shavers this model is outstanding in the quality of shave it gives me. A couple of things I do not like about this model is that it does not have included in the box a cleaner. I looked online at the website but couldn't find where I could buy one. Another missing thing is any type of blade guard to protect the shaver heads. My older models all had plastic snap on covers for this purpose. This model does not nor do they sell one. Another thing I do not like is the shape of the shaving heads. The head has triangular shaped combs with a hole in the center of the head (this hole is for the cleaner which I don't have) and this causes me an issue. When shaving my chin the inner point of the leading comb tends to push down causing the trailing combs to dig into my skin. Not to damage my skin but it disrupts the otherwise smooth movement of my shave. I do very much like the flip up head because it allows for intermittent cleaning much better than my older models. Overall this is an excellent shaver but I can't give it a 5 star rating due to the above noted shortcomings.

The shaving heads glide easily across the skin and shave everything smoothly. That is impressive, even though the arrangement of the heads takes some getting used to for a novice. I actually find it very difficult or impossible to shave cleanly around the beard that you want to leave standing with a razor.
I prefer a Braun or Panasonic electric razor.

I rank the I9000 far behind the other two razors both in comfort and closeness of the shave. I find the I9000 very irritating and it has caused my neck to bleed. The Braun and Panasonic are very close with the Braun slightly more comfortable and the Panasonic giving a closer shave. None of the electrics give as close a shave as wet shaving with a blade razor.

It works well, but occasionally It will make a loud high pitched noise. It also lacks any accessories and their support team acknowledged that, which may be why they closed my request without getting back to me. I also purchased a much less expensive razor which does just as good of a job and is less noisy.

No other shaver comes close to shaving this close. Beautiful design, very comfortable to hold with excellent balance and features that are useful and not just flashy gimmicks. It’s brilliant. I only wish I could buy the nose/ear trimmer separately.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had about 7 Philips shavers, always buying the top of the line. The battery of this shaver is terrible. I returned the shaver after 3 weeks. My battery would deplete and need recharging after 3 shaves. My shaves were about 2'30" long and I used the cleaning device from my previous shaver after each use. I thought it was a bad battery, but the replacement I got is little better. I got 5 shaves and after recharging my battery is nearly dead on the replacement. My other Phipils shavers would last about 10+ shaves between recharging. Not practical for traveling due to the bulky and heavy container. Doesn't come with a plug!!

It is a razor, very quiet, very effective, and it does not irritate my skin. I do not regret my purchase at all. Easy and quick to shave. Dry shaving without applying shaving cream is great. The UV charging case is good for travel and, in addition to a longer battery life, also provides a good cleaning option.
