Forget the advertising, pass this one by.
Up until this purchase, I used a Braun. It stopped working after 8 years and based on reviews and What Philips wrote about their razor, I decided to buy the Prestige Ultra. It took me 4 days to master the proper use, my foil razor took me about a half an hour to learn to use it properly. The prestige feel good in the hand, it’s a lovely design, but unfortunately this is where the praise stops. It doesn’t give me a close shave in 3,4,or even 6 minutes at any setting. At best it leaves me with barely visible beard that feels as rough as sandpaper. It does not cut at or below the surface and the hair under my chin and above my upper lip have that 5 o’clock shadow no matter how much or how long I shave.

Woeful instructions
If there was a global sweepstake for the worst product instructions then this product would be in contention to win. The black instructions just screw up and throw away. Other information you just about need an electron microscope to read. And they are in a significant percentage of the World’s languages. It will make you feel like Forest Gump.

Battery Problems
This is my 3rd razor within just over a month. Original and two replacements. I shall be returning the 3rd on my return from my vacation. All the razors lose their charge within 48 hours after a full charge.

Feels more like a toy and the results are substandard with the shave not close enough compared with my Brain series 9. The cleaning process could be better. Feels cheap for the price

I won't be buying razor blades anymore and strictly using this shaver, it's that good. I also have a 7000 series shaver, but it's not even in the same league.

Expensive but well worth the price
I have for many years used a straight razor, this gave me a comfortable and close shave after an intense learning period. I have developed Parkinson’s which means having an open blade held against my throat by à very shaky hand, less than desirable. I tried à Foil shaver but it gave à very patchy result. À friend advised me to try the Phillips machine. Amazon we’re doing on the 9900 ultra so I took the plunge. I am delighted I get a close but comfortable shave.

Easy to clean and use
I had spent inover 30 years in the military where you have to be cleanly shaved every day where I always used lather and a razor to shave. Now that I am retired I tried a beard which I found very uncomfortable in the OZZIE heat and I did not want to go back to lather brush and razor. So after seeing the i9000 and trying it in the shop I was won over as it is comparable to a wet shave without the mess (love it)
