A: Hey Sadie! Thanks for your inquiry. Although softness is subjective, this is a polyester filled pillow insert, so will be more firm than a true down filled insert. The fiber fill is a fine denier for a soft and squishy feel. The insert is filled substantially so it will hold the shape in any insert. Hope this helps! - Patrick

I bought four of these pillows, and while three of them are fine, the fourth has about half as much fill in it as the others so I need to buy a new pillow to replace it. I definitely wouldn’t describe them as “oversized” - they have the exact dimensions described and are not terribly thick. I feel like they’ll flatten out in the next year or so.
