Prequel Pre-Gleanse Nourishing Oil Cleanser - 6.5 fl oz

this was my first time trying out an oil cleaner and I used it for about a week before deciding to call it quits. it did a great job of removing makeup BUT it did inflame my acne prone areas and the pimples felt deeper than my usual occasional breakouts.

I've been using this for a few weeks mostly at night and am enjoying it so far. Some nights it feels very luxe to be massaging oil into my skin, it's a nice little treat. Works well to remove makeup too before I use my other cleanser

Great oil cleanser!

Didn’t clog up my pores. I’m usually an acne prone skin person so I’ll immediately get pimple if something doesn’t sit right it’s my face right.

This is an effective product, I have two gripes: the consistency is a tad thin. There is another pre-cleanse I use that's thick and milky, and it really helps remove all the gunky sunscreen in 1 go. The Pre-Gleanse is effective too, but it doesn't perform as well and I find that I need to go in a second time with the Pre-Gleanse before Gleansing. The other gripe is that I can't adjust the nozzle position to face forward so it looks uniform next to the Gleanser bottle (please see attached photo). I hope that Dr. Sam Ellis can understand this drives OCD folk like me a lil crazy!

For reference I have combination skin that is very sensitive and acne prone. This cleansing oil is just the right viscosity and dissolves makeup and sunscreen easily. Rinces off more clean than any oil balm type cleanser I've tried so far. My skin is left soft, smooth but not feeling stripped. I would highly recommend this product. **I really appreciate the locking mechanism and its ease of use. *I hope to see a travel size in the near future.

The consistency of this Pre-Gleanse is lighter than other oil cleansers. This easily breaks down my layers of sunscreen and occasionally tinted sunscreen. I can't speak for removing a full face of makeup but for sunscreen, this is fantastic. It doesn't leave my skin oily. I do follow with a regular foaming cleanser.

I just finished my first bottle of the oil cleanser and switched back to my previous oil cleanser that I had on hand and I am so ready to be done with that one and get back to the prequel oil cleanser! One pump is all you need for your face and neck and it washes away sunscreen and grime from the day so nicely. I have even forgotten to do a second cleanse after this and had no issues with feeling oily or not fully clean. Love this oil cleanser!

Does a great job gently melting away makeup, sunscreen, and dirt when used as directed. I have combo dry/oily sensitive skin and experience occasional breakouts - this product doesn't irritate my skin, dry me out, or break me out. I use this every night and one bottle lasted almost 5 months. Fantastic packaging. Most pump bottles end up leaving a lot of product in the bottom, but this pump worked until the very last drop. No product was wasted and I didn't have to unscrew the top to get the last of the product out.

Wanted to like this product so bad. Stay far away, clogged my pores and created cystic acne that I’m now trying to reverse. Influencers sold me on the product but it is not a fit for everyone—I have dry skin and usually don’t have an issue with oil products. Once I stopped using this, I didn’t see additional clogged pores which is how I realized this cleanser was the cause

I have rosacea and am trying to get my skin acclimated to tretinoin. It's a challenge! This is a great basic oil cleanser. It spreads easily, emulsifies well, rinses easily, and doesn't dry my skin out. I follow it with Gleanser. It's a great value- please make it in a travel size!!!

Purchased this with high hopes of an affordable first cleanse as someone who wears makeup and face sunscreen daily but won’t be repurchasing. Since using this I often find myself with tiny whiteheads the next morning or deep cyst type zits. The latter of which are really tough to treat, often lasting for days if not weeks since there’s no whitehead - just an angry inflamed pore. I haven’t really changed anything else in my routine so my instincts tell me this is the problem. I gave this two stars mainly because it does remove waterproof mascara quite well (takes a bit of gentle massaging of the eyes but this is what I need to do with any makeup remover I’ve tried). But I don’t think this actually rinses off cleanly no matter if I double cleanse with another product afterwards.

Soo many influencers mention this. I liked how smooth and hydrating it was but the next day I had a break out. Even after doing second cleansing with a different non oil cleanser.
