People often confuse silica gel in cat litter for crystalline silicate (which is a form of quartz, often found in clay litters and it is regulated by OSHA as a hazardous material. ). There's no crystalline silica in PrettyLitter or any other silica gel cat litter. A: Hi Savannah, great question! While one bag of PrettyLitter typically lasts a month for a single cat in an average-sized litter box, every household is a bit different. If you have multiple cats, we recommend at least one bag per cat; for instance, if two cats share one box, we suggest two bags for that box, or if each cat has their own box but one is used more, we'd still suggest two bags per box. To get the best performance, maintain a depth of 2 inches for one cat, or 3 inches if you have multiple cats or if your cat tends to urinate more. Giving 2 stars because it did help detect a possible uti with high alkalinity however my cat had symptoms before I switched litters to this one so he already had to go to the vet. This litter is awful. For the first few days I thought it was the best litter, after a week it’s the worst I’ve used. It gets litter-ally EVERYWHERE! I mean every single place in your home you’ll be stepping on it all the time vacuuming twice a day. I know most litters track at least some, but this is on another level. Believe all the reviews that say that. Also, it started smelling reeeeeally bad after about 5-6 days. Even with scooping twice a day and mixing constantly AND I only have one cat.

First time cat owners this litter is not dust free. Litter sticks to cat paws and tracks everywhere. Does not cover poo odor. The white litter bowl I got is pretty- probably the only good thing I have to say bc I feel duped getting this litter smh

The litter really is pretty, it looks like little crystals. The color-changing feature is amazing and makes me feel more in-tune to my cat’s health- yes it does work! The litter clumps really well, saving me a lot of time when I’m scooping. The biggest downfall is it does not mask odors well at all after the first few days.

So far so good. The smell is nice. Covers up number 2 smell decently. I like the absorbing properties. Hoping it will last the month before changing it all out. I feel like the urine smell might build up too much before a month is out but we’ll see.

I am not loving the non-clumping factor. The urine soaked gels just stay in the box and "evaporate", and it smells bad. At least with a clumping litter you can clean daily, remove the wet clumps, and have an odor free litter box. The smell with Pretty Litter lingers until you change the entire box out. So, as most cats love to pee in a fresh clean litter box. . . you have the cat pee smell from day one on until you change it ALL out as you can scoop it bc it doesn't clump. That is annoying. My cat is healthy apparently. I may only buy this as my cat ages and I have concerns about kidney health or something. But, right now I would much rather my house not smell like I own a cat.

I have never been so excited about cat litter but this product is revolutionary. There's no mess, my cat doesn't track it throughout the house and my favorite part. . . you can't even tell I have a litter box!
