For those who have done this know that this can be a nightmare with 1/2” breaker bars. This 3/4” kit with ratchet and breaker bar was perfect for the job! Have several tractor maintenance projects lined up that I know this kit will be perfect for!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The sockets are excellent quality. I have gave a couple of them a pretty good tear and they still look like new. The ratchet/extensions have been great too. I do wish the case was built a little Heavier. It has been fine so far though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set has a lot of bang for the buck. It has overall quality construction, well defined points in the sockets near flawless chrome. The play in the joints is minimal while still allowing for easy intentional separation. The diameter of the pull bars and extension is large without being cumbersome. Anytime having to go to a ¾ inch drive means working with large and/or heavy components and this set is more than accommodating. The length of the pull bars as well as the socket gives one plenty of leverage and bite when working on heavier or larger projects. The case allows for quick identification of sizes and has enough room to grasp any component needed while wearing gloves without adding complications. Personally, one shortcoming I have found is the ratchet direction mechanism is not the easiest to use with gloves or greasy hands. It has a push then turn spring loaded head that, while effective and executed well, has no raised portion that allows one to easily manipulate one handed. I often found myself struggling to get enough positive grip on the indentations to effectively change the direction of the head especially when hands or gloves are greasy. Having said that, a ¾ drive is rarely used in delicate situations so my difficulties using the ratchet were minimal. Beyond that, this set is a welcome addition to my tool chest. The set is SAE and while I certainly have a greater need these days of metric tools this set is a great starting point for going into ¾ drive without breaking the bank.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Crescent 21 Pc. 3/4” drive socket set is a good value for anyone needing an all-encompassing ¾ SAE set. Typical of Crescent’s reputation, the chrome plating is bright, smooth and evenly applied. Stampings are consistent throughout the set and very legible. I appreciate that the set doesn’t skip any sizes and comes in a range that should handle the most commonly encountered nuts and bolts. Rounding out the set are some extensions and a breaker bar. The tools are packed in a sturdy, if slightly oversized blow molded case. The set came just in time as I was finishing up a steel building on my property, which gave me the opportunity to put it to immediate use. The sockets are machined for “off corner loading,” which has been the trend in the industry as of late. Personally it sounds like a good idea, and in use, I experienced zero stripping or rounding of bolts while torqueing them to the required 325 foot pounds using a ¾ drive click type torque wrench. The sizes I used fit the bolts and nuts securely. The ratchet feels good in the hand with a nice even knurling on the handle. I like that it has 45 teeth, which is more than my older ratchet. The decrease in swing is appreciated with a tool this large, as is the quick release. Here however is my only major issue with the set. The head of the ratchet has some slop in it, which causes it to rattle. The pawls do engage with an authoritative click and I experienced no slipping. Should there be any future issue, it is comforting that Crescent/Apex backs the tool with a limited lifetime warranty. Bottom line: This is a good quality set at a reasonable price point and should meet the needs of any user.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using my dad's 3/4" drive socket for the last 30 years or so when I needed them. It's nice to have my own set. The sockets are a good quality. I know you aren't supposed to use chrome sockets with an impact but I wear safety glasses. I used a 1/2" impact with 1/2 to 3/4" adapter. I replaced the trailer ball on a receiver hitch. I then had to change the blades on a batwing mower. The sockets held up fine. The impact wouldn't break the nuts loose so I used the breaker bar and a 3' cheater pipe and they come off. The breaker bar held up fine to my use of the cheater on it. I put them back on with the 3/4" drive ratchet. It has both good features and some not so good. The quick release works great the socket falls right off. The bad part is, when I went to change the ratchet from forward to reverse I accidentally pressed the release button and got a heavy socket barely missing my toe. I would recommend that Crescent redesign the ratchet head so its easier to change from forward to reverse and to avoid pressing the release unintentionally. Comparing to the old set that I borrow from my dad, his metal box will hold up a lot better if you are mobile with it around the farm and his set has a larger assortment of sockets. His set goes to 2 5/16" and this one stops at 2". If you work on larger equipment you might need some of those larger sockets. Other than the ratchet no complaints.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Third set exceeded my expectations! If you're like me, you're not going to use it alot, but when you need it it will be very handy! The high tooth count on the ratchet makes it feel like a more expensive name brand, and the long handle gives plenty of torque for tightening or loosening those stubborn bolts and nuts. The fit and finish seem like they should last a lifetime of properly cared for!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a heavy tool set that does big work. I put a 6 foot cheater pipe on the breaker bar to unstick a nut, no problem. Appears to have good quality metal and plating. I had very little difficulty working on the F-650 changing shocks with this set. When I work on my tractor many of the fasteners are bigger than most socket sets go. This sits on my shelf most of the time, thank the Lord! One solid unit LOL But, when I need it, it's always there for me. Comes in a nice plastic carrying case weighs around 28lbs.

It’s perfect for the one who works around large machinery, around various production plants, etc. These are well made and feel really tough and heavy. The molded plastic case makes it easy to transport to any job. The long length of the ratchet and bar allow for more torque and easier use of on those hard bolts that are hard to break loose. The 12 point sockets provide an easier placement and the “off corner load” should limit rounding off the heads. Definitely a set worth having for those times when you need it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow what a great 3/4 ratchet I had a kobalt set before that was stolen the quality of this one is ten times better. I used it this past weekend to replace a a control arm in my 99 Toyota tercel this ratchet made taking of the axle nut a breeze. I would definitely recommend this protect the socket s are great quality as well they have the off corner load wich helps not to strip the nut.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 3/4 inch impact sockets and a 3/4 inch electric impact gun but no other 3/4 drive sockets to compare this set for direct comparison. It is very solid and heavy with decent ratchet teeth that engage easily when in use. The sockets are broached to decent tolerances and fit various hex fasteners I find on truck suspensions well. The detents to hold the sockets in place are secure and solid with minimal wobble. I can't imagine I will ever have the strength to bend or otherwise damage this socket set or ratchets as they are extremely robust compared to my 1/2 drive ratchets and sockets. I can't imagine a situation where this set will fail to perform unless it requires breaking rusted fasteners with extremely high torque that I am now unable to create by hand. The latest impact drives are easily capable of doing this but I will always prefer to set fastener torque values by hand using a calibrated torque wrench.

They give a good grip and fit in the hand but aren’t so rough they leave your hands hurting. The sockets and extension, along with the rather and breaker bar feel very heavy duty are a great addition to my toolbox for when working on farm equipment. I highly recommend anyone working on big equipment to get this set!
