Guests are saying
The pie crusts are praised for their flavor and convenience, making them a go-to choice for many guests. However, there are significant concerns regarding their size and tendency to shrink during baking, which affects the overall presentation and usability for standard pie dishes. While some guests appreciate the ease of use and the taste, others express disappointment over the shrinking issue, leading to a desire for larger options or improvements in quality.

Smaller/thinner crust
Pillsbury has reduced the product! It is now thinner and smaller than it was just a year or 2 ago. My quiche I just made is ruined by a crust that shrunk down and in my 9" pie plate. I'm going to look for a different brand for my Next Mother's Day!!!

To small
In the past I used these all the time with great results. Now they've made them so small it doesn't fit in a normal pie pan. What's the point in using if it fails as a normal pie crust.

Downsized new crust
I have used your crusts forever. Even introduced them to others. So disappointed that you have reduced the size of the crust. A deep dish pie needs original size! Please charge a bit more and fix the problem. Talked to others who use them as well and have the same complaint. . . Some things can’t be reduced in size. Seems a no brainer. Thanks!

Ruined three pie crusts
I have used these pie crust for years but something has changed. More and more of the crust are unusable after blind baking. They either crack or shrink after baking. I tried three separate time to bake a pie crust and not one of them is usable. The first one had a huge crack on the side and the second two shrunk so badly down one or more spots that I cannot use them. One side shrunk all the way to the bottom of my pie plate. I will be looking g for a new product for making pies and quiches.

Disappointing
I have been using your ready made pie crusts for years and have been pleased up until recently. The last few times the crust would not roll out properly and stuck together! I've had to stretch the dough to fill in holes and it makes for sloppy pies.

Pie crust no longer reliable
I have used the roll up pie crusts for many years and depended on the product’s consistency. So easy! Tasted like my homemade crust. But something has changed. Now too often the crust cracks in several places when I unroll it. And as others here have said, the diameter is no longer large enough to crimp the edges. Today is the first time I’ve looked at your website. I see I am not alone. We all know you can do better.

Perfect for Pot Pie
The pack is perfect if you’re making pot pie! One goes on the bottom to hold all the deliciousness of the pot pie insides and the other crust layers perfectly over the top of the insides. I also like using these for a quick quiche crust!

Changes neurological functioning! Find a different brand.
Pillsbury needs to cut out the garbage. Get rid of the Annatto. If you care about your health and your family, get a different brand. This ingredient can change neurological functioning. Annatto can cause mood swings in some individuals and children are the most susceptible, their bodies being smaller. A recent search brought me to this conclusion. Recent research has shown a potential correlation between annatto consumption and changes in neurological functioning. Certain individuals report experiencing mood swings or behavioral changes after consuming products containing annatto. You are welcome to do your own research but the US has is backwards. Something shouldn't be deemed safe until proven otherwise, it should be omitted until proven safe. These mega manufacturers need to do better and cut out ingredients that affect people on a neurological level.

Not Good Anymore
Well I can see by all the one star reviews that I am not the only one that wonders what the heck happened to this product. I have used this pie crust for years and it was always my go-to. Sadly I have purchased the last one. The crust has gotten hard, flavorless and sticks so badly to my glass pie plate that it ruins my pies. This years Christmas pie crust actually tasted freezer burned but I had NEVER froze it! Why aren't you LISTENING to your customers when we ask you to please go back to your original pie crust. I guess this is just another case of shrinkflation of some sort. Replace a great product with a cheaper version but charge a higher price so you can make higher profits.

Crust shrunk
I’ve been using the refrigerator pie crusts since I discovered them many years ago. For the first time in twenty years the pie crusts shrunk halfway down the pan. I thought I had done something wrong so I tried again. Had to throw out both. What did Pillsbury change? Why did they change it? Kind of shocking..this was the BEST refrigerator pie crust ever made! Please bring back the original Pie crust!

We're sorry to hear about your experience! To prevent the crust shrinking during baking, press the crust firmly against the sides and bottom of the pie pan. Flute the edge high and firmly on top edge of pan. By “anchoring” the crust to the pan, it won’t pull away from the pan during baking. We hope this helps.

Frustrated.
I am continually frustrated that when I pre-bake the pie crust, the upper part of the sides shrink away from the top most edge of the crust in spots and I have to throw it out. I make fruit pies and there cannot be a whole in the crust or the juices run under the crust and form a glue making it impossible to get the pie out of the pan. This has happened on numerous occasions. I have tried to smooth it out, reshape it, even make it thicker in spots to prevent this from happening and nothing works.

Crust was dry
Expiration was 6/26 but still brittle and hard to use. Christmas quiche was a mess let just hope it tastes good
1 reply from Pillsbury team - 4 months ago
We’re sorry to hear the crust was brittle and difficult to work with, especially when preparing something as special as a Christmas quiche. Even when a product is still within its date, factors like storage conditions or temperature changes can sometimes affect texture and flexibility.

Crusts too small, hard to use
Crusts too small, and to unroll it requires too much delicate work. They shred at end of roll out, making it impossible to flute edges because too small already. My last box had a partly severed roll on the end and resulted in the wrapper being open on one end. Very disappointed overall. Bio-enginered just doesn't make it, Pillsbury.
