Guests are saying
Guests appreciate the convenience and flavor of this chili, often using it for quick meals like chili dogs, nachos, and baked potatoes. While many enjoy its chunky texture and spicy kick, some guests feel the recipe has changed, resulting in a less satisfying product. The chili is praised for its hearty, homemade taste but criticized for being too watery or lacking in meat.

Too watery - was better before
I have been eating the HORMEL® Chili Hot With Beans for many years but lately it seems the recipe has changed the consistency is much more watery than it has been in the past. Much prefer the thicker consistency.

I will NOT buy this product again.
I bought three cans of Chunky Beef Chili with Beans. The dish I was making was something I had seen on a Facebook video…Hot Dog casserole. When it was time to put the chili on top, I had to get a spoon to fish it out of the can. There was virtually nothing in the can but beans. I actually counted 3 small junks of meat. If I wanted a CAN OF BEANS, I would have bought that.

Bad Reviews Can Be Unbelievable
First of all, I've been buying this brand for most of my (77 year) life and NEVER found any can "watery"! I can only speak to my experiences, so I humbly ask these people to provide supportive pictures of their "watery" purchases.

Why did you change the taste and consistency?
The original hormel hot with beans was my one guilty pleasure. Recently bought a couple of cans but the chili tasted different, as in bad different. It kind of reminds me of Stagg in flavor ( yuck). The old recipe was perfect and moorish. The consistency also seemed more runny than before. Please bring back the old original flavor.

No meat anymore!!!!!
I have bought the chunky beef chili with beans for years. The last 2 cans have had no meat. Why change the recipe and loose a good customer? Won't buy again.

Recipe change or temporary production problem?
I have eaten this chili for years and recently found the consistency to be much more runny, as if the recipe was changed to reduce the amount of beans and meat.

It used to be alot better
I used to buy Hormel chili all the time the regular with beans but I think I am going to look for a new brand the last probably four times it has had under cooked beans in it. Raw beans do not taste good

This chili is more like soup. It is nothing like what's on the label of the can.

If the recipe was original again I would buy it.
We have always enjoyed hormel beef chili, but lately the beef tastes chemically and smells like canned dog food. I don't think I could continue to eat it, unless they use their original recipe, or be more careful where they are getting their beef.

Almost all broth.
Bought two cans. Opened the first. Could barely find any beans let alone any meat - it was all broth! Threw out the second can. I'll be sure to get the Original Chili with Beans next time.

My go to for chili!
I love this product by itself, on hotdogs and potatoes. There is always a supply ready to make a great meal.

Perfect topping when making chili dogs.
This is my go to when preparing chili dogs for my boys. The hotness from the beans, is a great kick, along with some shredded cheese. Make sure your hot dogs are grilled for this tasty outcome. Enjoy 😉

Never again
How dare you take a mediocre product that was at least authentic to the label and bastardize it and water it out and throw food coloring into it and take the chunky out of the chunky chili? Absolutely ridiculous and a perfect example of shrinkflation

Never again
You guys water it down, add food coloring and took the chunks out. It is horrible. It's ridiculous is a sad state of shrink inflation. Sad. Sorry excuse for a chunky chili when it used to actually be that.

Literally eat it every day
I have been eating on average at least one can a day for a couple years now. I truly hope that this wont affect my long term health. I highly recommend this product. Thank you Hormel for my daily food. Are their any outlets for me to buy cans in bulk. By bulk I mean like 100 cans at a time or something.

Edible, not spicy.
No heat at all. It tastes OK, but saying it's spicy is like standing within ten yards of a campfire in winter and complaining it's too warm.

My favorite canned chili.
Great flavor. I was disappointed that I didn't see it in my grocery store for a few months. I hope you still make it because I'd like to buy more. I have a few cans left. I didn't like some of the new varieties sold.
