Q: Why does this company use Maltodextrin in all their products?
submitted by R M - 1 year ago
A: We use maltodextrin (sourced from corn) in small quantities in some of our foods to improve texture and product quality.
submitted byKellogg Consumer Affairs - 9 months agoBrand expert
Q: The package says 6 servings- is a serving one or two "sausage" patties?
submitted by Autumn - 1 year ago
A: A serving is 1 patty.

Q: What are the “natural flavors”?
submitted by madiileigh - 1 year ago
A: We don’t have a list of specific ingredients in the natural flavors to share because the flavor recipe is unique and owned by our suppliers. The majority of natural flavor components used in our products are derived from a plant source such as concentrated fruits, vegetables and/or spices.

Q: The ingredients as listed are not vegan, but the vegan label has been applied on the website. Which is true? Thank You! :)
submitted by ChessPlayer - 2 years ago
A: We are now producing this product without egg and milk ingredients. Stores may have the old version in stock so look for the word VEGAN on the package to be sure you are buying the new vegan version.

I tried the burger Grillers tonight for dinner. They were perfectly fine. I microwaved two patties together for 45 seconds on each side. Placed them in hamburger buns, added a half slice of munster cheese, three pickle slices each and some mayonaise. I then placed the completed burgers into the microwave once again for 15 seconds. They were moist...not dry with a good texture. Adding the condiments amps up the flavor. I would recommend these if you are trying to avoid red meat.

The new recipe lacks the flavor and texture of the old recipe. Yeah they are slightly larger but so what.
Good, but haven’t tried them in the new recipe.

Been about a year since I’ve had these since I prefer the links. (But it appears the links recently changed so I might try these again.) They are a good substitute for a sausage patty. A little hard at times, but so is a fried sausage patty. Cooking them a little less made them better.
Bring back the original recipe!

The new recipe is just gross. Texture is tough and flavor is off. I've eaten these patties for over 2 decades and now I have to find a substitute. Please bring back the original recipe!
Let us mourn for what we have lost.

Vegans seem to like these, because vegans have few options and correspondingly low standards—they'll take what they can get, and aren't familiar with what the original vegetarian version tasted like anyway. The rest of us understand these patties are absolutely horrible these days, just a lousy mockery of what they once were. The texture is repulsive and the taste is weird and I certainly won't have anything to do with Morningstar Farms again.
VEGAN RECIPE = YUCK!

If I could give the vegan version a zero rating I would. PLEASE change back to the original recipe! Or consider offering BOTH! This new one is TERRIBLE, both in taste and texture. I have been eating these sausages for breakfast every morning for over a decade, but will now be looking for alternatives. Why mess with something that’s working???
Not original tasting

Sorry been eating these for decades and wasn’t aware of any recipe changes but noted they were more dense and less flavorful. Won’t be buying again until they truly are the original version.

Love this product, BUT the past couple of months I've noticed my packages have one less serving than the bag states (I get the value pack). Pretty annoying that I'm paying for 12 servings and only getting 11....
Yum

My favorite veggie sausage. I use it for nachos, tomato bolognese, traditional eggs and sausage. The best taste hands down!

I've been buying and cooking these for over 30 years. My girls were raised on them and now we are All very disappointed at the change. The taste and texture isn't the same and best as I can determine from the reviews - that's because they went vegan. All For That and how about the jumbo could be vegan and the original could go back to being the true "original". I Agree with the other review that you need to indicate that there has been a change. Please Bring Back The ORIGINAL!!

The change in the ingredients to Morningstar Original Sausage is making me look for alternatives. I They have a perfume-like taste, These are no longer the Original Sausage and the company should stop marketing then as the same. It would have been preferable to make the vegan version and labell it as such.
Welcome change

So happy these were reformulated to be vegan! I hated to give them up when I cut out all animal products. Been eating them for years. I don't think the change sacrificed taste or texture.
New Go-to Breakfast Patty

We just tried these as we normally buy the Beyond Breakfast sausage patties, and while fat in those add a lot of flavor, cooking them results in a greasy mess. These MorningStar patties taste great and have a good texture leaning on the drier side, but I love the macros (higher protein, lower fat), so as long as these are priced comparably, we'll be buying these moving forward. Hoping to see the entire MorningStar line become 100% plant-based/vegan.

I am 46 and began eating these about when I started on solid food! I’m so disappointed in the 2021 change that altered the texture and taste in a very negative way. I used to tell people this sausage was the BEST meat substitute in the world. I’m searching for an alternative and won’t buy these as soon as I find one! Please bring back the old recipe!!

Seriously, where these even tasted against the old recipe? If they were did Morningstar Farms specifically find people rtgat prefer funky texture warm cardboard? Because that is what these now resemble. You had the market cornered with the original breakfast sausage, now I beat this would make even beavers sad.
