Q: Can you microwave these veggie burgers?

submitted by kathy - 6 years ago
  • A: You can, but they'll be soggy. I usually microwave for a minute to get it warm, then finish it up in the toaster oven on foil or in a hot pan for texture.

submitted bysomeguy - 6 years ago
  • A: I know this is an old question but wanted to chime in - I only every microwave veggie patties. This one does well with it (like Dr Praeger's) and I'm a fan!

submitted byJanine - 2 years ago

Q: Why is this priced like a value pack of 8 burgers when it's only the regular pack of 4? This should be closer to $4.

submitted by Jellyn - 3 years ago
  • A: The pricing appears to be fixed!

Excellent, not like meat burgers which is good.

Excellent, I love these. They don’t taste anything like a meat burger, nor do I expect them to. Love the chunks of veggies. Sometimes I get large chunks of what appears to be water chestnuts which is a bonus.

    Misleading label

I like these burgers that I eat them everyday now for more than 15 years. I saw “Ready in 2 minutes” sign on my latest purchase on August 2025, which threw me off and I thought these are newer versions so I microwaved for 2 minutes instead of 1 minute & 15 seconds- it became chewy.

Original grillers have a big, devoted following.

These have been my go to for a quick meal. My wife & I have been vegetarian for decades. These are patties I crave, when I want a burger. They’re getting difficult to find at the grocery stores we shop, and was really worried that these were discontinued.

    Vegetarians ≠ vegans

Raised vegetarian and had these as a staple for forever!! They've updated the recipe and now they're disgusting. So disappointed. I don't understand why they didn't make a new line of vegan products. Please stop lumping us together and ruining the OG products. We're two separate markets... great market diversification opportunity absolutely wasted while also mowing over your dedicated vegetarian fans. Pleaseee please the old recipe was 5/5. Everybody makes mistakes. Everybody has those days. Bring them back and I forgive you. Begginggggg. Sincerely, a lifelong vegetarian

    Love them!

I love morning Star prime grillers. I add chopped onions and place a slice of cheese over them. I add the regular condiments and they are great. I stopped eating beef over ten years ago. I always have these in my freezer.

    Uggggg!

My husband and I decided to add more plant-based food to our diets to supplement meat. We purchased MorningStar Farms Garden veggie burgers. In the past, they were decent tasting. But somehow, someone has changed the recipe and they are absolutely putrid now. I would not recommend them to anyone. We have two patties left over and are sadly considering throwing them away... they are just one of the worst tasting and have an awful consistency. We have purchased the black bean burgers and hopefully they will taste better. We truly want to support companies that make plant-based foods as it is important especially in this day and age. Please consider changing your recipe and making these taste good. A lot more people would go plant-based if they had something delicious to substitute into their diets. Thank you and I'm sorry🥺 to have to make this report but maybe it's the only way that a change will happen.✌️

    Where's the taste?

I tried one of these for the first time last night. It was one of the most tasteless things I've ever eaten. Wasted money. I ate a lot of MorningStar Farm products back in the '80s, and enjoyed them, but I think I'll now leave their products in the past, as a pleasant memory. Yuck.

What I Loved, I Love No More

I used to eat these regularly and loved them. A couple of years ago they started tasting horrible! Way too spicy and mushy! I can't eat them anymore. They're that bad!

    Easy to cook and tasty

I like these. I also like a true beef patty burger. They will never be the same, so why is everyone complaining? I have to watch my diet and these are great with salad, brown rice, beans, avocado. I skip the bun these days, but my daughter likes them with ciabatta. I prefer to make them on the stove with olive oil to crisp it up. Yum.

First veggie burger I've really enjoyed

Finally, a veggie burger I look forward to eating. Almost impossible to tell from ground beef, but without all the fat, antibiotics, environmental destruction, cruelty, and guilt. The price is right too.

    I don't like the change.

They just don't taste the same. I've been eating these for about 20 years and have told numerous friends about them, who all liked them. Now I can't eat them. Please change them back.

Garden Veggie Burger, the new recipe is TERRIBLE.

I miss the original egg-based version—it had such a good flavor and texture. There are plenty of vegan alternatives out there already, so why not cater to vegetarians instead of going fully vegan? Subway also offers that same disappointing product, and I mistakenly thought the patties sold in grocery stores were the old recipe I loved. Excited to enjoy them again, I bought a box of Garden Veggie Patties. But yuck—the new recipe is gross, with an unappetizing flavor, taste and texture. I ended up throwing out the remaining three patties along with the box. What a huge disappointment! Please go back to the old fabulous tried and true recipe. Please! I am begging you, so many of us are devastated by this loss.

    What happened?

I loved these veggie burgers, but the last few I bought were really hard around the edge. I always cook these less than the directions say, just to avoid having hard edges. That worked in the past, but it doesn't matter now. The edges are always really hard, and I have go spit it out. I'm now looking for another brand of veggie burger.
