Chewy chicken and too much breading
I microwaved the chicken. The chicken was chewy. The breading is too thick.

Something's different! Why the change?
I have been buying this product for a long time, and I LOVED it! I would have given 5 stars! However, I just bought some a week or so ago, and the tenders are different. The breading is a different consistency and not in a good way. The consistency of the chicken itself is also different. Now, I don't like them very much at all. Go back to the original product, PLEASE!

Terrible recipe change.
These have been our go-to chicken tenders for years. The flavor and texture used to be perfect. Now they are rubbery and have coarsely ground breading that is frankly not good and doesn’t even completely coat each tender. I hate when companies make changes to gluten free products that those with dietary needs have come to love. I have contacted Perdue to look into all of the current negative reviews and suggest that they revise their recipe.

Not What They Used to Be
We've been eating these for years and they were fantastic. They're awful now and my kids refuse to eat them. They don't look, cook, or taste the same. We are so disappointed.

New recipe is so bad. These were perfect. Now they’re like rubber. Go back to the old recipe.

Changed Recipe- DON’T BUY
The recipient for these tenders has changed which has resulted in a pale yellow exterior and rubbery, plastic-tasting chicken. This was a significant push to degrade the cost of inputs to increase profit. I do not see how these can continue to be labeled as “organic”. There are too many gluten free alternatives now to continue settling for this constant downgrade in quality.

They are not what they used to be!
I'm going to go with all these new reviews. What has changed? We want to know! The first time I noticed the change, I thought maybe it was just that bag. Bought another bag recently and same look. It's strange. They were much better before. We have been buying these for years. Please let us know why they are different. Can you go back to what they used to be?

New recipe 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
We have been buying these for a few years and they have always been delicious. The last several bags are completely different. The are pale in color and do not crisp up or look like they’re cooked even after baking for nearly 15 minutes. They are now flavorless. This is so disappointing. I won’t be spending the money for these unless the recipe is changed back!

New recipe is a huge failure.
Such a disappointment, recipe has changed for the worse. These have gone from one of the best GF chicken strip options to easily one of the worst we've had, we won't be buying these anymore unless they change the recipe back because they're now bland and rubbery no matter how you try to cook them up. Breading is next to flavorless and doesn't get anywhere near as crunchy, and the chicken texture is unappetizingly rubbery and close to flavorless as well... Truly hope Perdue reverses this change, it's hard enough as it is to find good gluten free options that are widely available and these used to be one of the good ones we were excited to eat. No longer, what a huge step backwards. Like a full staircase backwards. Purdue - Hope you take the feedback from people seriously here. This is a great example of how true the phrase 'don't fix what isn't broken' is.

Recipe Changed
Used to buy these all the time for years and they changed the recipe and now they're terrible! Used to be delicious and flavorful, now they're bland and unsatisfying. Very disappointed! Literally have been buying these as a staple part of my diet for the last 6+ years and now they've changed! Literally taste more like Styrofoam now then chicken.

Bad New Recipe
These were my sons absolute favorite, but something changed in the recipe. They are pale looking and taste off, my son doesn’t want to touch it. It triggered my son’s excema, so we stopped eating it and it cleared up. I’m afraid it may contain or be in contact with one of his food allergies now.

Something is not right with both brand new bags I bought. Normally these crisp up and are much more brown, unfortunately these are pale and totally different, I am leery of eating them

Disappointed
This used to be a go to for us in our house. However after finding out that they are cooked first in soybean oil prior to baking, they are not going to be something we choose any longer. I read labels on all the food I buy and don’t appreciate the lake of transparency on the cooking process. Highly processed seed oils are something we avoid in our house for many reasons. I wish Purdue would be more transparent and also consider a better option for initial frying-like avocado oil.

Hi there, just to clarify your doubts, The oil in this product is used for frying, not as an ingredient in the formulation and is an Organic Soybean Oil. It is considered an incidental additive (processing aid) by both the USDA-FSIS Labeling group, our Organic Certifier and, by regulation, is not required to be labeled.

We've always loved these, but just as the other review described, our chicken was so pale and didn't have good flavor. I left them in the oven several more minutes than usual and they still never browned.

Disappointing
I used to get this chicken all the time and we really liked it. I liked that it was organic. But I bought it again recently and it isn't good anymore. The taste is off and I don't like the breading. I won't purchase it again.

Great and infrequently inconsistent
It’s a manufacturing, factory/production issue. We use these chicken strips on a regular basis, and have for years, for a main source of protein for my daughter. But every now and then, there are batches that are *INCONSISTENT* (all caps for production 👀) with how the chicken strips are or are supposed to be, resulting in pale chicken strips, with extra frozen fat on the strips, which makes the chicken strips soft and mushy during the cooking process. Even if you scrape both sides as best as you can before cooking, it’s almost impossible to avoid the mushiness, even when following cooking instructions — AND when trying other methods to try to get them to cook right. My daughter would not eat any for an entire week. She ate 0 from one whole bag, and I could not cook them properly due to manufacturing error. Yep, calling out the production workers. Not a Target issue. BUT, when they’re uniform with how they usually are, and when they cook well, they’re great. I’d give 5 stars otherwise, as this has been a staple in our house for years. (Which kind of means I know what I’m talking about.) Perdue if you have questions, I’d love to share feedback.
