Q: What material is the "screen" part made of?

  • A: This is made from shoji paper, also called rice paper, due to it's color, which is made from the mulberry tree.

  • A: I'm not sure exactly but it's very thin and punctures easily. I have mine around a hot water heater in the basement. It got pushed against the heater and the spout at the bottom torn a hole in the screen. It's very fragile.

Q: What is the actual screen length?

  • A: The flat measurements for the 6 panel are 102in wide and 70in tall. This screen however cannot stand on it's own and needs to be folded, so it can only cover ~85in of space.

Panel warped within a few months

Don't waste your money on this defective product! When I first received this screen, it seemed like it was well-made and I was happy with it. Fast-forward 6 months later - one of the panels is noticeably warping/bending, so much so that it has started putting stress on the hinge, and it's only a matter of time before the hinge breaks. The screen has been in my living room the entire time, with no major temperature fluctuations or other factors that would contribute to wood warping. I can only surmise that this is not a well-made product if it warps so quickly, for no apparent reason.
