For you germaphobes that complained the bottle is not air tight, Gates and Arthur Bryant’s are the best sauces on the planet, even if they ooze a bit during shipping. Don’t throw leaky bottles away. Used to be Good but Bottles Leak
Hate to do this but facts are facts. I've eaten, loved and - when I had to - ordered this sauce for 30 years. Still my favorite BBQ in KC. I ordered 10 of these and 5 of them leaked. Target loosely packed them in a box that was too large. When I opened it they looked like bowling pins rolling around. There was BBQ sauce visible staining much of the interior and on the bottles. Giving each one a squeeze test I came up w/ 5 that were no longer air-tight and leaking. I contacted Target and they refunded my money on those. Sad because I wanted more sauce. Leakage from the safety seal should not have occurred tho. I've tried for 2 days to talk to Biancha at Gates and Sons to let them know they might want to check the Quality Control at the bottling site but she hasn't not bothered to take or return my calls. Accidents happen but improperly sealed food and a disinterest in customer feed back are not good for business.

Our Favorite BBQ Sauce
Gates BBQ Sauce is our family favorite and is not available in stores in our area. I was so pleased when I learned that I could purchase it on line through Target. I wish that they carried the Extra Hot, but the Original is all that is available. When my order arrived, several bottles were sticky on the outside. This might be because I live at high altitude, but I'm hoping it is still safe to eat. The price is very reasonable.

Thank goodness for Target! My boyfriend always talked about Gates BBQ sauce, we could not find it ANYWHERE without a ridiculous shipping charge. Not only does it taste amazing, not too hot, not too sweet, but Target's price is unmatchable.

A Great Find
This is truly a great find. My family is from Kansas City Mo., but do not live there currently. When we visit, we get a bottle or two to bring back home. Usually they are out of the original at the resturant and is rather pricey to have shipped. So a taste we grew up on, that is easy to get to is a wonderful thing! thanks much Target for proving this Sauce. I ordered 6 bottles and surprised my family, they were very pleased.

Great Stuff!
I "discovered" this great sauce on a trip to KC several years ago. It's our favorite for grilled beef. We got a mess of it this year to use as stocking stuffers, and everybody loves it. Rich, tangy, full-flavored. Yumm!
