Bought for Christmas present
My sons love this game and have played it a lot since getting it for Christmas. Def a good buy with what seems like decent length of play.

Different, but enjoyable
Although I admit the game gets slow at some points (as does every Pokémon game I’ve played IMO). It’s enjoyable and fun and different compared to others in the past. A game I don’t mind stopping for a month or so and jumping back into. I understand where the negative comments are coming from, but they’re being too harsh for no reason.

I was a bit disappointed in this compared to other Pokemon games. Not as many Pokemon available in the game and the storyline didn't take as long as other games. It was very hand holdy the entire game. The whole game basically felt like a tutorial.

Never buying game cards like this again.
First time I have ever posted a review...Bought my first Nintendo game download card for my son for his birthday. Didn't know the code for the game was on the receipt. That is mentioned in small print on the game card. No longer have the receipt AND in Target fashion they are unable to help when I called. I will never buy a card like this again. Consumer protections should be created for cards like this. Disappointed that despite using my RedCard, Target didn't have this information.

Pokemon Shield is a great game that reminds me of the old Pokemon that I grew up on. You need to battle the Pokemon before being able to catch them! I love the graphics in the game. I will admit the Dy-max evolution can be hard to understand at first, but keep playing the game!
POA: Battle trainers and Pokemon as much as possible. The gym leaders are strong!

Pokemon Shield for Nintendo Switch
This game has been very fun and exciting for my 8 year son. I love the graphics, game play, ease of use and how quick this is to learn. I give this game 5 stars because it deserves all of them and more. Bravo Nintendo!

I've seen a lot of reviews on code's not working on Target's E-Delivery. Worked for me, installed the game and still enjoying it. The email code took a while to arrive about an hour and a half. But granted it still worked and I'm able to play the game.

ONE OF THE BEST
I've played every Pokemon game and this is by far one of the best ones I've ever played. The visuals are beautiful, the new Pokemon designs are great, and I love the soundtrack! Yes, they've made a few undesirable changes, but they've also made really great changes as well. Overall it is a very great, fun, and addicting game. I recommend it to all. You won't know if you'll like it unless you try yourslef. ;)

It's fun-ish...
Fun game, but very glitchy. The characters do get a bit annoying, but that's expected. Not many new pokemon sadly, which breaks my heart. Very short also. It took me about a week to beat. It's still fun to play, but not worth the price they're asking.

I love this game, yes the amount of Pokemon has gone down but the after game content is way more then any other Pokemon game. I love it and can't stop playing it!

Don't Let Nostalgia Get in Your Way
Another excellent addition to the Pokemon franchise. They do a good job of easing new users into the game and the world, while not completely alienating those of us who are more interested more competitive play. Much like the game before it, Pokemon Let's Go, Nintendo seems to be starting to explore different ways to change up game mechanics and increase gameplay post-storyline. I find that these additions make it less monotonous as previous games.
As stated in a previous review, they cut the number of Pokemon that are available in this game, but honestly, I hope this is a trend they continue in other games because it may encourage you to use a different Pokemon than you would ordinarily. Whether it by rushing the game into production or by intention, I'm welcoming of this trend. Clearly no one remembers when you were completely region locked and could only catch the Pokemon in the region. I think limiting the amount of Pokemon they release per gen makes sense in a sea of 800 and allows players to bond with more different Pokemon.
People get really attached to their nostalgic view of the Pokemon games they've grown up with, but I really think this game is worth the shot, for both new and old players.

Very bad example of a Pokemon game
Very short, bland and low quality Pokemon game. It is definitely not worth $60. It uses graphics from the 3DS and has many bugs in gameplay, it can even fry your Switch and all other games save files. It only has about 40% of existing Pokemon available. It is very tutorial and baby proofed feeling the entire game. Way too easy. Characters are annoying and constantly interrupt gameplay. Many graphical shortcomings and poor quality graphics.

Cut rate
So they cut the amount of pokemon you can catch in half. How sad. No longer the game it was, the variety is pathetic. Loved getting all the past starters and they removed all but the original trio.
