Expired cat food

Check expiration dates if purchased at Target. I purchased a box February 2025 and cans inside expired November & December 2024. All four cans of salmon flavor had to be thrown away-expired Nov ‘24 and was soupy mush. Chicken expired Dec ‘24 but was useable. Realized too late to return. Too expensive to waste!

Over a year agoOver a year ago, our cat was weak and unwell. Despite multiple visits, the veterinarian couldn’t identify the problem and suggested running several tests. After doing some research, I decided to try duck-flavored wet food. It turned out to be the only food my beloved kitty could keep down. She went from being frail and lethargic to energetic and healthy. I truly believe this choice gave my cat a second chance at life.

For the love of cats - 8 months ago

Have given all my cats Blue in the past and it's been great. Now have 2 frail elderly and 2 other adults. Desperately need the elder ones to eat what I give since they don't eat kibble supplement like the others. Have restarted Blue in the past couple months and find differences in the way some lots of the 5.5 oz look and different consistency. The worst is that they love some lots and barely touch others. I have not noticed this problem with the 3oz cans (more expensive though). Tried buying at local pet stores rather than in bulk lately and although better success, still inconsistent. I thought I was crazy because I had this problem with another brand too, but now I've seen other comments from customers saying the same thing. Please... find a way to track your QC on these lots. Cats are not dogs and notice these differences. I've wasted a lot of food down the drain but the worst part is I'm desperately trying to get nutrition into my seniors who are depending on this. It has become a full time job trying to get them to eat. When they won't eat one of the cans, neither do the younger ones, so it's not just their age. Have always loved Blue from the start... So disappointed that this is happening to you too.

I bought a can of the duck food yesterday and my 4-year old cat loved it! She has food allergies and can only eat turkey or duck food. The only problem is the price! I will buy this on occasion for a real treat for my fur baby.

Blue Wilderness canned duck recipe is the answer to many prayers. Our cat suddenly stopped eating her usual foods. The vet said she is healthy yet being picky. I tried everything without luck, until I saw a Blue Wilderness commercial. I purchased one trial can, which she devoured. She has been eating 2-3 cans per day for 2 weeks now!! She is playing again and looking so much better!! Thank you so much Blue Wilderness! We are customers for life!!!
Duck with bone fragments

I've always purchased Blue Buffalo thinking it was a quality product. However, I was wrong. I've opened several cans of the Wilderness Duck car food and found that each can contained small sharp shards of bone. I feel horrible because ago we had one of our cats to the vet with digestive issues and after xrays were taken the vet asked if there was any way that our cat could have ingested bone. After switching to Purina her digestive issues became better. When I purchased her favorite, which was the Duck, thank God I noticed the pieces of bone otherwise she would have had the same problems again. I will never purchase Blue Buffalo food again.

There shouldn't be any sharp bones in the food. The small bone fragments are hard, and sharp. Sharp bones can puncture intestines

My cat loves this food! Once I tried this, she wouldn't eat anything else. I also feed the BBW dry. The issue is that there are so many bone fragments in the food and pretty large pieces sometimes. I try and pick them out but wish this issue would be looked into and possibly fixed.

Ever since I gave my cat this food he will not shut...up. meow meow meow and gets more adorably pathetic with his noises as he sits by the cupboard every day, it's all he wants to eat. Today I opened a can and found a decent amount of what looked and felt like bone but this is the first time I've seen it after 60+ cans but I can expect that to happen.

My aging cat (18 years) has had issues with digestion and bowl movements. This pate cat food really seems to make a difference. I like that it has flax seed in it; may be the magic ingredient for him.
