Great intro speakers
Paired these speakers, which are my first set, with a Onyko TX-NR6100 receiver. Install was straight forward as was the set up. The mounting screws were a little off and I had to get a different screw, as described in other reviews. Still in the warm up phase so I have not pushed the system yet. So far I have been impressed with the sound quality with movies, music streaming and gaming. It has added a new dynamic to my entertainment experience. As of this writing, no issues with these speakers especially with the price.

This is not a high end speaker system but it is defiantly a great package for the price. I use this in my bedroom as I don't need a massive system. A couple of things that keep it from being the HT deal of all time. First off they should use a slightly larger driver in the fronts and center. A 3" driver really struggles with the low end of mid bass. They don't sound bad, but they definably would sound WAY better with this small change. Secondly the sub is just adequate. This is due to a few factors. First you need to set the cross over very high to help fill in the mid range. Secondly it is not very powerful it is 8" though this helps with the midrange it really falls off on the sub sonic and you need near maximum gain to keep up with the satellites. Personally I would love to see a 10" sub. with 4 inch front stage, it would be way worth the small extra cost. I don't run an EQ, but I am thinking this system would greatly benefit from one. I am just pointing out where I see the price reflected. Don't let this shy you away, again at the price point on sale this is a great set that you would be very challenged to match from other brands.

Wonderful quality audio for small family room. I do have it hooked up to a $1000+ amp that probably provides lots of headroom, but I?m sure they would work great on most any receiver.

Good speakers
These are excellent speakers for the price. The sub does have some resonance at mid to high levels, but again, amazing for the price. One very important detail that cost me a bit of time and cost: The threaded inserts on the back of the speakers are M6x1, NOT 1/4". Monoprice needs to fix this error on their listing.

Installed this system for a customer. Overall, the immediate looks of the speaker cabinets are great. The speakers themselves don't look to be of cheap quality. The problems I ran into were twofold. Number one problem I had with this system. The mounting point didn't match any of the screws included in Monoprice's own speaker wall mounts. That just doesn't make sense. The mounting point itself is not sturdy in the cabinet. It moves with the screws (once you've found the right size at the hardware store). I ended up having to modify the speaker mounts to fit flush over the cabinet mounting point. I then proceeded to drill holes for the self tapping screws included in the speaker mount kit. The second problem I ran into was that the spring connectors are so close together and inset enough that using pin type connectors required me to use a piece of foam to push the connectors apart enough so they wouldn't touch. The speakers themselves sound good enough when properly setup. I was very much surprised at the initial sound quality. The sub has a good weight to it and the center channel reproduces vocals and music well enough for the price. My customer is still thrilled to have these and has nothing but good things to say about the sound.

Perfect for my bedroom
This 5.1 system is just right for my upstairs bedroom. The speakers sound very clean, and the subwoofer does not overwhelm. Most other companies wanted almost $200 for a subwoofer alone - so picking up a balanced, good sounding package was quite the bonus. And the look of the system is unobtrusive - the stylized "IIIP" is not detractive. I would highly recommend this.

Works great even if all front-facing

Minor mounting issue but speakers sound great.
I had a little trouble attaching them to the brackets on my walls. I had to find bolts to fit. And the mounting connections in the back of the speakers can screw out which causes the nut on the inside of the speaker to move and no longer line up with the hole. So I had to work to get the nut lined up with the hole again so I could screw the connector back in. After that happened once I made sure I didn’t unscrew any of the connectors from the other speakers. After I got them mounted and connected to my new Denon AV receiver they sound great. It sounds just like being in a movie theater.

I was tired of mumbles and garbled British conversation on TV so I tried this system. All is much better! The online manual is OK but could be better. If you are techie it will help, if not it will work just fine.
