The Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format provides for a Digital Optical Audio signal, commonly referred to as Toslink. Toslink allows for the distribution of uncompressed 2-channel PCM audio or compressed multichannel audio, such as DTS or Dolby 5.1 or 7.1. Being an optical signal, Toslink is immune to problems that can plague electrical signals, such as crosstalk, magnetic interference, or radio frequency interference. This cable features a full-sized Toslink connector on each end, with molded connector heads and strain-relief boots.

    Doesn't Click into Citation 5.0

    The cable will not click into my toslink connector on Citation 5.0 per amp surround processor. It does fit the tv connector as well as my xbox...but crazily will not click/ snap into the Citation and thus falls out. Submitting for a refund. Hopefully another brand or more expensive Mono Price toslink wont have this problem!

    I bought 4 of these optical cables on recommendation from Apogee for my Thuderbolt ensemble, they work well and fit when using the 4 optical ports on the ensemble, other cables barrels are too big to fit more than one in and one out

    Good Cable

    Good quality cable that does exactly what I needed.... extend an existing Toslink cable for a new audio hookup. It's a little thinner than I had hoped but it's nice and flexible and performance does not seem to be affected. Good price, quality and quick delivery.
