I purchased this stool to replace a round 18" high three-legged stool which, after 30 years of daily use, finally came apart. This stool is excellent for multi-functional purposes - at the kitchen table as an extra seat, on the front porch as an extra side table, as a foot rest to elevate my foot. My husband even stood on it to clean the ceiling fan blades. The height is perfect if you have bad knees - right height to easily stand up! Assembly was easy - took about 15 minutes. This would make a good gift for a hard to buy for person.
