Q: Does this come in the original box or is it repackage? Stamina/Aeropilates website states that this model comes with the Primer and Basic videos, but another posted answer from the merchant states that it does not. Are the Primer/Basic videos included?

  • A: All products off-gas to some extent, it is why your windshield gets dirty inside! Petroleum products (plastic, vinyl...) are particularly bad. I once bought an elliptical that continued to smell for weeks despite leaving windows open in the room. I returned it. If you can smell it, it cannot be good to breathe!

    Cheap version of legacy 700/701 machine

    Description was not particularly accurate. As an example, says it has the heavier duty springs (consistent with manufacturers' 701 AeroPilates description), but it has the bungee cords from the cheaper versions. I have owned a 700 version in the past and the all-around build quality was significantly better (although to be fair I paid quite a bit more). Wood end caps have been replaced by plastic, the rollers no longer screw into the deck....they just sit in holes, headrest is clunky, etc. This seems like a cheap knock-off. Most people won't realize it unless they can compare side by side. Given the price (~$500), I would still recommend, and it is a great workout, but know that this is a dumbed down version of what used to be a solid piece of equipment.

    I absolutely love my reformer. I only give it a 3 because when it was delivered the box and several parts of the machine were bent and broke. I had sent a complaint to Fed Ex and Target only offered a refund not even take some off the price. Disappointed in target for that

    So far, I am loving my reformer- the only issue that I have is I wished the reformers had colors on their cords, so I know which cord is the lighter and which one is the heavier cord. I have stop and change mine.

    Great performer

    The wider base gives much better support. Easy to adjust the length of the cable. It is some what cumbersome to exchange the foot bar and the jumper. It would be much easier if it was a lock pin instead of screw in to set.

    Love my new Reformer!

    I love my new 701 Premier Reformer!! I love the wider platform & taller rebounder, and the glide is so smooth! This is my 3rd Aeropilates Reformer, the others 2 lasted me over 10 years each! The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I'm finding the arm/foot straps difficult to keep at my preferred length. I will get them to the right length, then after a few uses, they seem to slip & need to be readjusted.

    I love, love, LOVE this Stamina AeroPilates 55-4700B reformer. Just now I, by myself, finished the assembly. Super smooth...just needed help lifting the platform on to the risers. It's perfect in every way. Let me explain. I've had FOUR (4) AeroPilates reformers over the years and have either had to sell because I was moving or wanted the next level-up model. The last one I had was the top-of-the-line wood one w/ the 4 steel cords. I like the nylon bungee cords better as they are WAY quieter and, honestly, will last just as long with the same amount of resistance. The wider platform is a plus for a place to put your hands. It folds and can be easily disassembled for moving which the fancier one didn't do. This one is super smooth...super quiet...super sturdy. Can't say enough. Gratitude Stamina for consistently putting out such a superlative product.

    Great product!

    I recently purchased this reformer and I already love it! It was easy to assemble. The footbar is comfortable and the jump board is easy and fun to use! I've already ordered the yellow and red bungee cords to put on, as well as the magiccircle, box, and pole by AeroPilates. My only gripe is that the furry straps aren't terribly supportive, and the hard velcro gets in the way. The fur on my face when I'm laying down and not using the straps is a little overstimulating. I ordered some different straps (also by AeroPilates) and hopefully when those come in it will fix my dissatisfaction with the straps.

    Worth more than the price

    I am so glad I ordered my Aeropilates reformer. I've been using it approximately 4 or 5 months and I could never say enough good things about this equipment. I had looked at local classes and they were so expensive for 1 hour classes. I looked online and decided it would be to ny advantage to just buy a reformer. Most weeks I've used the reformer 3 to 5 times a week. There are so many online videos in You Tube to train you in using it. I would definitely recommend anyone that likes pilates would like the reformer.

    Pilates I love you

    I have been a Physical Therapist for over 40 years so my back is shot but I need to stay in shape and strong for my work in a hospital. I am tired of gyms and the time they take out of my day but my back does not like my standing when using my free weights at home. This Pilates machine has been an answer to prayer: easy to use and as I can lay down for many exercises and sit for some I find it fantastic. It helps to be somewhat agile and have a general knowledge on exercises so I can work all muscle groups at various angles . Unlike rubber bands the resistance seems to remain even throughout the movement. This is my first time using a Pilates machine and again I love it. I am focusing on toning so do 20 reps continuously per exercise . Perhaps I should do a video to demonstrate the great variety of exercise I can do. I do single leg squats for max benefit as I am quite strong and this allows great workout. I can go on but I need to stop. Strongly recommend this machine for home use.

    Home Use Following PT

    I purchased this reformer after going through PT, in which a reformer was used. I am very happy with my reformer, along with the Stamina videos on demand that I have purchased.

    Good quality

    This reformer is a good starter reformer and a great reformer for older adults or anyone who has experienced changes in their movement, range of motion and flexibility. It is of good solid quality and will last when taken care of. It should not be kept for long periods of time in an area that is extremely hot (like a unventilated garage) due to some of the parts (like the track wheels, cushions, etc. ) will eventually dry rot, crack and/pr break/ breakdown. The only thing I would change is the tension. It would be so much better if it were spring tension rather than the bungee cord tension. Or at least offer an upgrade to replace with springs. Other than that, it’s a really good product, especially for those new to reformer.

    Why only black tension cords?

    I bought this a month ago and the jury is still out on this. It's a bit clunky (maybe I put together incorrectly) and the reformer board is so long I cannot do the mermaid exercise with my knee up against the foam pads. Also, the DVD exercises and Youtube videos instruct changing tension cords and I only have the black tension cords all 24 lbs. On the good side it wasn't difficult to put together.

    Even older unfit people can use this machine.

    First time user and I’m loving my machine. I look forward to my almost daily workouts, and within 2 weeks found myself more flexible. I can’t cross my legs yet but maybe in the months to come. I’m older, unfit, overweight and inflexible, but with the exercises being slow and controlled I can still use and enjoy this machine at my own pace. 👍

    Decent for a home gym. Easy enough to put togethe

    Acetate for a home gym. It would be nice if you included the double straps instead of the gross fuzzy things. The carriage or sled of what ever arrived with a tear in the surface. Way too much styrofoam in the packaging.
