The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine from target
This New York Times best seller does not disappoint. I am a person who is interested in settler colonialism, but if you have no interest in the history of this topic I would pick a different read . The first three chapters were well written as it discussed the declaration of wars from 1917-1967. I personally thought it was a little dry, but the history is enlightening if you can get through it. I received an incentive to write this review.

Historical Accounts, Highly Recommend!
A very powerful, meticulously researched and deeply personal historical narrative that reframes the conflicts through the lens of settler colonialism and resistance. The author draws on archival material, diplomatic correspondence and family history to argue the conflict isn’t a series of isolated skirmishes or peace failures, but a century long colonial war waged against the Palestinian people. I received an incentive to write this review.

Fascinating Historical Summary!
This book is a broad, sweeping summary of the history and situation in Palestine, in modern era. It simply explains how we got to be where we are which I think most of us can agree is something we know little about. I was surprised to learn just how complex it is, and that there’s no really easy solution for all involved. This book was very interesting so even if you usually struggle with history books you will be fully engaged in this one. I received an incentive to write this review.

A great book, a great addition to a history class
This book is a well written account of the development of the conflicts in Palestine. From the late 1800s through more current times. I was most intrigued by the early history. The book detailed how foreign leaders played a role in the current landscape. From the earliest times the book accounts for how this really transformed Palestine and how forging dignitaries saw this land and thus ultimately leading to ongoing conflicts. I received an incentive to write this review.

History book but told from authors point of view
This book was absolutely insightful. What I found wild was that it was positioned mostly from the authors point of view but that it also while it spanned “a hundred years” there was so much of it that had taken place within my lifetime. I appreciated the (few) pictures through it to just add a more true depiction in your brain of what you are reading versus what you can only imagine through their words. I received an incentive to write this review.

Must read book for anyone following global issue
Rashid Khalidi's The Hundred Years' War on Palestine is a deeply compelling and meticulously researched account of Palestinian history, told through a personal and political lens. Khalidi, a renowned historian, weaves archival material with firsthand experience to illuminate the colonial and geopolitical forces that have shaped the region. His narrative is both accessible and profound, offering essential context to current events while challenging dominant narratives. This book is a must-read for anyone seeking a nuanced understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. With clarity and conviction, Khalidi gives voice to a history too often overlooked or misunderstood in mainstream discourse. I received an incentive to write this review.

A powerful story on the Hundred Years’ War
This is a very powerful book that is about a landmark history of about a hundred years of war against the Palestinians from the US historian of the Middle East. It is told thru available events and the families history. The family history is passed down from generation to generation and the author also adds his own experience as well and is very passionate. It is highly researched and a great read. It’s fact based and helps the reader understand the 100 years war in real life. Very informative and heartbreaking at the same time! I received an incentive to write this review.

Great historical book I learned a lot from
Palestine has been fighting a war for the last one hundred years. The authors family was actually involved in many of the events that they described in this book. I love reading WW2 history books so this was a new genre for me, but it kept my attention the entire time. This book is written from a Muslims perspective which helped me gain knowledge on many Muslim facts I wasn’t aware of. Great book for learning! I received an incentive to write this review.

Biased but lots of good footnotes
Our local bookstore has this book featured in the summer book club, and I was interested to see what perspective it took. I disagree with the perspective and content of the book, but externally it's good quality. There is a picture about every chapter or two, but honestly, I feel like they add almost nothing to the content. Most are pictures of individuals, which don't add much to the content it is covering. There is a hefty note section at the back of the Book, which I do always appreciate, although they sometimes can be biased. I received an incentive to write this review.

Eye opening account of the history of Palestine
Having never been to the middle east, I was looking for an insider's perspective when I bought this book and I was not disappointed. I love that it includes relevant pictures and historical photos as well to make it more personal as you read the story and I really felt like I could identify with what the author was describing about the Palestinian struggle. I have mainly heard pro Israel viewpoints with everything that's going on in the world right now so this was very eye-opening to me to understand more about why there is constant tension between these two groups. I received an incentive to write this review.

Powerful and thought provoking!
History books are typically not my first choice of books to read, but this one brings you into the story of his own experiences-it is deep. I liked that there were photos and maps included and a notes section at the end of the book. I’m glad I read this book-his description of this being more than a conflict and that it’s been ongoing for so long is heart wrenching! Great book! I received an incentive to write this review.

This book gave me a Much better understanding of the Israel Palestine conflict from the Palestine’s perspective. Rashid Khalidi mixes personal and historic information that keeps readers interested and engaged. It’s not always light reading, but definitely eye opening and worth the read. It’s a New York Times Bestseller for a reason. If you need a book to read this summer pick this one up! I received an incentive to write this review.

Khalidi offers a powerful, deeply personal, and researched account of the Palestinian struggle against colonialism and dispossession. He blends historical analysis with personal experiences to offer a deeper understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I love that this is written as a history novel - offering a survey of actual events and recounting those events through the lens of those who lived through them. The Human Cost of a Hundred Years’ War
Rashid Khalidi’s The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine offers a compelling, personal account of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as a century-long struggle against settler colonialism. Blending history with family stories, it really struck me how Khalidi presents Palestinians not as passive victims, but rather, as active participants in their own resistance. His critique of global powers is both clear and thoughtful, and his storytelling truly brings real humanity to a deeply political subject. This book doesn’t only inform, but it challenges readers to see the conflict through a very different lens. I’d say this is essential reading for anyone who may want to better understand the people, the pain, and most importantly, the persistence behind the headlines we so often read. I received an incentive to write this review.

Great perspective on Palestinian struggle
I recommend The Hundred Years’ War on Palestine for its powerful, well researched perspective that reframes the Palestinian struggle as a century long anti-colonial fight, offering essential context often missing from mainstream narratives — and for its ability to connect personal history with global politics in a way that humanizes politics. Highly recommend. I received an incentive to write this review.

Excellent historical account with pictures!!
It’s an incredible book filled with so much knowledge and a decidedly Arab point of view. It does tell so many facts and so much history which helps when trying to understand the friction in that region. I found it incredibly thought provoking to imagine a world without this war. One hundred years is a very long time. This history really helped me understand how and why this conflict is so difficult to resolve. I received an incentive to write this review.

Good book to learn about Palestine
I got this book for my husband because he loves following political world events and has been interested in learning about the Palestine war. While he hasn’t read it yet, this book seems to be well written and very informative. I briefly looked through it and was impressed to see many historical pictures to help tell the story of the war. This would be the perfect book if you’re trying to learn more about Palestine I received an incentive to write this review.

This is very detail book about Palestine history
Thi is very heart wrenching, powerful and hard to describe this author, Rashid Khalidi shows his personal narrative into their account of events even it’s taboo to talk about it. The Hundred Years War on Palestine is necessary to understand their issue of conflict and the author digged and explained it in meaning written text or very well. Hopefully many countries or many people can understand this Palestine situation since media didn’t bring this full of details like the author on this book I received an incentive to write this review.
