A: The bases are 5" square, so they offer a pretty stable platform for the lamp above. They are not easy to tip over and they are not top heavy in our opinion. Thank you for the question!

A: Hi - these do have a bronze tint to them, but the overall look is very dark, and in low light situations they will appear as black.

A: Hi - no, sorry, but these lamps have regular on-off socket switches, not 3-way socket switches. You could put a 3-way bulb in them, but the bulb would only work on the brightest setting. Thank you for the question.

Something went wrong two years later.
I really liked these lamps. I bought them approximately two years ago and one of them just started popping my breaker and when I looked inside the lightbulb was burnt and the inside of the lightbulb holder was burnt. So, I really wanted to give them mini stars Because I like them and the style but since one of them blew up on me and it's not my outlet or anything else. I checked all sorts of things. I would put it in different outlets and it would pop the breaker and blow the light out every time. I'm not going to rebuy them just because I'm scared. I wish I could give them the five star review that the look requires but for safety's sake, I will leave it where it's at. Sorry.

Black, not Bronze
These are beautiful lamps but they are 100 percent black. Not bronze in any way. Returning because I needed bronze.

I love this look! Description says they are dark bronze, but they are more black. I still like them in my living room.
