I would purchase this game again for other early readers!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our 6-year old kindergarten grandson loves the game! He enjoys taking popcorn from the theater-like container, examining the word & saying or sounding it out. He also loves seeing his collection of popcorn accumulate and counting the puffs! The game also assists his parents in assessing his reading progress! - a double win-win! I would highly recommend this game for early readers!

LOVE this!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use this daily in our homeschool. My kiddos absolutely love it. It's great for beginner readers, phonics, and, obviously, sight words! Highly recommend! Your little reader will have such confidence in a short amount of time with reading these sight words!

Absolute winner
My daughter Loves these! I was previously writing her sight words on flash cards and she acted like she didn't want to go over her words. She asks to do the popcorn words! We use it as a family game drawing words, spelling, sounding out & saying the words.

I would recommend this product.
This is a fun way to review sight words. Anything that looks like a game is much more engaging than flash cards! The selection of words is just right for my first and second grade students.

Fun spelling game
I bought this item as I had seen a colleague using it during precision teaching sessions. Although the words are a little easy for my year 4 class (I didn't know where I would be this year...) I will certainly be adapting it to suit my LA children. The design and idea of children picking out popcorn is brilliant. My coordinator has already commented on how much she likes them.

Popcorn Sight Word Game
I love the idea of this game, but my daughter tired of it quickly. It is also difficult to learn sight words out of context. My 2-year-old and 5-year-old did love it for playing movie theater though.

Able to Use in a Number of Ways
How the game works is that each player must attempt to have the most words. The game ends when all the pieces of popcorn are used up. You earn those words which are pieces of popcorn by having read the word featured on them correctly. When you draw a POP! card, you return all the cards you've gained back to the box. This way of playing was a bit discouraging to my daughter being challenged by a few words and achieving those only then having to put them all back and start over. However, one part of the rules is when a word is read incorrectly, you set it aside. Modifying the rules to allow for a retry of one of the set aside words is, in my opinion, a better way to play. Some other ideas are removing the POP! cards entirely, shuffling in the set aside words back in when a POP! is drawn, or some other variant you can come up with. The fact you can make your own house rules is what will keep me using it and probably both my children interested. Overall we pull out this bundle weekly and practice lots of sight word learning. My daughter literally asks for these often but only after we mixed things up. The bundle is a nice combo pack that will help grow your child's sight word knowledge from kindergarten even possibly through first grade. In my opinion, you'll get a whole lot more use out of the games if you opt to mix things up from the general playing rules.
