What a Story!
"The screen went dark. Black. Black as the night, and so did all of Addy's hopes for rescue." Extremely dire straits. After Homeland Security Agent Addison Leigh is brutally attacked and suffers a severe head injury, she loses a considerable amount of her memory; both about the firearms smuggling ring that she was investigating and the devastating separation from her husband. She had called U. S. Deputy Marshall Mack Jordan shortly before her accident, but she can't remember why and he had not been able to take the call. That doesn't prevent Mack from dropping everything and flying across the country to be by her side. Suffering from post traumatic stress after his years in the military, Mack Jordan had forced himself to leave his beloved wife after unknowingly trying to harm her during a nighttime flashback. It doesn't seem possible that she can't remember him. Assigned the lead role in investigating the case that Addy had become involved in, Mack pulls in his current team to assist. They had mere hours before highly dangerous weapons were scheduled to be smuggled across the Mexican border and into the United States. On the other hand, was that enough time to win back his wife's trust and affections? Mack could only pray that it was. What a story! The sweetness of forgotten love provided such a romantic interlude in the midst of a high stakes investigative thriller. "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, and love, and self-discipline."

RIVETING!
Susan Sleeman has just released HOURS TO KILL (Homeland Heroes Book #3) and it is RIVETING! Sleeman always delivers a compelling, edge of your seat, romantic suspense that will entertain you from the first page until the last. She never fails to grab your attention and her first line is a perfect example. “The brutal killer put a knife to her mother’s throat.” From that sentence on, Sleeman launches into the story and brings in her dynamic cast of characters. The main characters in this book are Homeland Security Agent Addison Leigh and her estranged husband, ICE Agent Mack Jordan. Addison is working a case and goes out to chase down a lead. On her way home, she is involved in a terrible wreck that is no accident. She still has Mack as her Emergency Contact on her Driver’s License. Mack immediately comes to Addison’s side and upon learning that someone tried to kill her, he summons the Red Team (the Task Force Team he works with and Addison’s former Team, too). They assemble and quickly try to recreate what she was working on just prior to her accident. What they discover puts them all on High Alert as it is a sinister threat that can take out hundreds if not thousands of people and they only have hours to solve the case. The biggest problem is Addison is suffering from amnesia from a concussion sustained in her car accident and cannot remember her research on the case. The upside of that is she also cannot remember the reason that she and Mack split up either. She does not remember being married to him or any members of the Red Team. However, as she spends so much time with them in the Safe House and working so closely together with Mack and the Team, will they be able to find love again or drive a wider wedge between them? Will they able to find the missing clues and more information and solve the case in time to protect the lives of many innocent people? Another fantastic offering by Susan Sleeman! I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Bethany House Publishers. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence.

Perfect conclusion to the Homeland Heroes series that gives you an adrenaline rush while appeasing your thirst for a little romance. If you love a thrill ride this is definitely the book and series for you as Ms. Sleeman is a master at her craft and never fails to give you hope in the direst of circumstances. I was amazed at the knowledgeable content and walked away thinking wow is that even feasible. I was so glad to see Addy and Mack work together and navigate their relationship even though she has lost part of her memory. This series will be on my keeper shelf to revisit at some point in time. Be prepared for nonstop reading as you won’t want to put it down. I received a complimentary copy from the author/publisher. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.

Great Suspense
Hour to Kill by Susan Sleeman is the third book in her Homeland Heroes series. FBI Special Agent Addison Leigh is on the brink of cracking a firearms-smuggling ring when she is attacked and left with no memory of the accident or her case. Because of his past military trauma, U.S. Marshal Mack Jordan ended his marriage to Addison as a way to protect her. Now he has vowed to bring to justice the man responsible for her accident. Mack and Addy had a lot of issues to work through but true love is always worth working for. Mack wasn’t afraid to admit his fear and short-comings and let God take care of them for him. This action- packed novel will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat from beginning to end. You never know what’s going to happen next! I received this book from the author for my honest review.
