Great book
Even though this is a hackneyed plot, I love how Kiera Cass represented the characters; while showing the importance of knowing what’s going on around you. This is a great book and shows the interconnectivity of one person and how they can affect so many different lives. I love all of Kiera Cass’ books, but this is by far one of my favorites.

Total Tearjerker warning spoiler alert
Okay I’m not going to lie this book was incredible and I was on the edge of my seat for almost the entire book. To be honest this book was honestly the best book I’ve ever read up until about chapter thirty two. I’m only in seventh grade but I still enjoyed the book. When Silas died only hours after marrying Hollis I wished and wished for him to suddenly appear. If I could give this book six stars I would. I would one hundred percent recommend this book. Thank you for reading my review and happy reading.

(no review title)
The only positive thing is that the only physical love is a kiss on the cheek so it is acceptable for pre-teens but it’s so boring I can’t imagine the point of reading it. Not to spoil the plot but it goes nowhere at all really and when the story could get interesting it ended. There was no real challenge to be overcome, like a good villain or obstacle or a real heroine moment. WASTE of TIME and hope I can return it!!

EH
Not so good. It did not feel like a Kiera Case book. The names of characters were weird. The connections with characters were not there. This book gave me a small migraine I will return today at 9am when my target opens. Do not buy this book. The last chapter is depressing it says "I was struggling to find enthusiasm for most things these days. Including things I enjoyed. Eating was hard, dressing was hard, everything was hard. It was impossible to will myself to be cheery." I should have left this book in the freezer with the ice cream.

Nothing like The Selection series :( very disappointing read
I rarely rate books this low but I was very disappointed by this book. I LOVED The Selection series back in high school, so I was really looking forward to The Betrothed. However, there was not really anything about this book that I liked (besides the cover). The plot was bland and boring (not to mention the ending a bit infuriating), absolutely no chemistry between the characters and the main character was incessantly annoying and whined to get her way. Not trying to be mean, I just don't understand how negatively different this was compared to Kiera Cass' other works.
I would say that if you liked The Selection series, you probably won't like this. There were some attempts at female empowerment, but overall failed to be an entertaining read.
