The Gentle Leader Headcollar is a perfect no-pull solution to help improve leash manners and the bond between you and your dog. Designed by a veterinary behaviorist, the Gentle Leader Headcollar is loved and trusted by vets and pet parents and has helped improve 5 million walks around the world. This training tool is best for dogs who pull because it interrupts your dog’s natural instinct to pull against pressure. The headcollar loops around your dog’s nose, so when he pulls, it gently moves his head toward you so he can refocus his attention on you and away from other distractions.
Although this training tool rests on your dog’s snout, it doesn’t work like a muzzle. Your best friend still has the freedom to eat a treat, drink water and catch a tennis ball at the dog park.     It works!!!

    We bought these collars for both of our large bread dogs. We dreaded walking them because they basically were walking use and dragging us. Last night, we put the collars on and went for a walk. It was so much better. I told my husband I could not wait to write a review, but he told me to wait until we tried again. Tonight we walked them again. They are so well behaved. The walks are like night and day. I already told one of our friends about it. I will be telling others that are going through the same problem. We are so grateful for this remedy.

    Bad purchase

    This is definitely the WORST headcollar I have ever purchased. My 12 week GSD keeps escaping it and fights it constantly. Definitely returning this item to store TODAY

    We're so sorry to hear that you've had difficulty using this collar with your puppy! When fit as intended it would be extremely difficulty to back out of this head collar, so it does sound as if the head collar may be a bit too loose or possibly not the right size for your pup. Additionally, if they are pawing constantly at the head collar, this would be a sign they need to go back to the first training steps and work with placing their muzzle willingly into the nose loop without proceeding into fastening the head collar on until they are fully comfortable with this step, then moving to briefly fastening the head collar on and removing it, wearing the head collar briefly indoors, then on leash indoors, etc. If you still have your head collar, we would love the chance to speak with you to find the right fit and discuss training steps for your puppy.     Extremely disappointed

    Save your money! We purchased the medium size for our 50# pointer / lab mix, set it up per the instructions, got the dog acclimated to where she was comfortable. She walked fine until a neighbor approached, she instantly jumped and lunged and the plastic 'quick snap' immediately pulled apart knocking a three year old girl to the ground (fortunately she wasn't hurt but it could have been bad). I had seen reviews criticizing the plastic locking 'snap clamp' and was happy to see that they changed it to metal, now they need to do the same thing with the 'quick snap'. They claim this is for extreme pullers but it is grossly underdesigned.

    You should not advertise better walks on 1st use

    Purchased this product, and it has some vague instructions on the back of the box, but no detailed instructions. The front of the box says better walks on first use, with ZERO advice to acclimate or train their dog, implying you simply put in and go. This risks a traumatic experience which leads to a lot more work, as well as a very unpleasant experience that could have been avoided. Shame on you!

    Gentle leader a winner!

    My dog was challenging to handle until trying the gentle leader. This has been a major game changer! She does not pull now and it has greatly improved the quality of our walks. Additionally, this has made the visits to the vet easier to manage. The only challenge is that she frequently gets the leash between her front feet because she steps over the leash. Regardless, this is a small challenge to handle when compared to her previous pulling! I’m so glad I gave this a try

    Game changer for enjoyable walks

    It took a couple of walks for my dog to get used to the Gentle Leader but once he did our walks are so much more enjoyable. I don’t even have to lead him anymore, he just walks right next me and seems to be enjoying our walks more now too!

    Works perfect for occasional wear

This gives me a piece of mind knowing she won’t be able to snap at anyone. It is easy to use and fits well for her. However the neck buckle is plastic and I was it was metal. She has broke every plastic clip she’s ever worn.

    Very helpful

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked this. I have a small dog and she loves to bark at people when we walk. People who also walk, especially when they have kids, get worried she might bite them (she doesn’t actually bite). I put this on her to provide a bit more comfort to others. The way I do it it by putting it on her loosely so she can still move freely, the trick is that to others it seems like she is not able to open her mouth completely. She never complains when I put this on her and she looks just as cute.

    Must try dog gaget

It wasn’t comfortable for her at first but now she seems more relaxed about it. Its a bit big for her but adjusting it all the way helps.

    Amazingly effective

    I have a five year old, very strong, mini goldendoodle. She is extremely nervous, reacts suddenly to enviorment sights & noises and pulls constantly, despite being with experienced dog handlers. However, I immediately saw a change in her from the first time I used the Gentle Leader head collar. She has become a joy to walk. She still reacts to noises i.e., cars coming from behind us, but stays with me rather than trying to run away and quickly relaxes again. Thank you.

    Quick adjustment

    Worked great on our stubborn, older collie mix!

It did take me a few trys and watching a few videos from the qr codes provided to figure it out but it works wonders if it's done correctly. She did very well with it and the fit was perfect.     A must for stubborn dogs

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this head collar in the color raspberry which was perfect for my german Shepard Penny. Unfortunately since she’s an older dog I did have a hard time putting it on because she’s very stubborn. The fit was nice and while I was trying to put it on it did feel sturdy. I was only able to test it out around the house with her but not really outside when we go on our walks because she was just not having it with the collar on her face. I feel in time she will eventually get used to it so that I can use the product for its true purpose. Other than that I appreciate the purpose of it and the sturdiness of the product.
