Bulky, inconvenient, not for me
This case was so uncomfortable to use! I'm a little tough on my devices so I thought I'd try an OtterBox. I couldn't stand the bulkiness. The front cover has to practically be pried off because of the tight fit. The built in stand only had two options and they weren't good for my needs. One was too upright and the iPad kept falling toward me while the other was just barely elevated from laying flat. The apple pencil did not fit in the compartment with the compartment cover on, meaning I had to take it off completely or leave it hanging open. I ultimately trashed this one and bought something less protective but more user friendly.

Solid protection
Solid protection for my new iPad Air. I like that the cover can be used as a tablet stand. I was even able to add a camera cover slide for privacy. I did also apply a screen protector.

Disappointed
The cover/stand is not easy to open or use, very clunky. The primary case has no place to old the Apple pencil.

Not as advertised
Thought it was coming with the screen protector like my other case. It did not. Also no instructions on how to install it. Ended up breaking the case because the instructions online were for a whole different case. Returning.

However, our original Defender Series case is available with a built in screen. Installation videos can also be found on our website. Not worth of purchase
I was so disappointed with this case. Usually OtterBox makes the best cases, but this one was not good at all. First of all the quality was not on par. The Apple Pencil door never stays on correctly. The rubber on back of the case was not firm. And so many more issues. I’m definitely planning returning it.

The perfect case
Loving my iPad even more with this case! I have an Amazon screen protector with the case (fits perfect). I’ve been using the otterbox stand that came with the case for everything. Yes, the case is bulky and makes it a bit heavy but it’s better than possibly breaking your iPad with a cheap case.

Ugh, I don’t love it.
I’ve never not had an Otterbox with any of my iPads or iPhones in the past. I should’ve listened to other reviewers that said this one falls short. It feels cheap. Lots of rough edges and sharp seams. Using it for a length of time is rough on the hands. Sounds ridiculous but you’ll see if you get one. I might try to file down some of these sharp parts. Even after just putting it on, my hands are a bit raw. Maybe I just got a bad one and the others are made a bit better but don’t know. The little pencil door is useless. Doesn’t easily open or close. That all said, it’s still probably a lot more protective than most cases out there. Just wish they’d have gone with a similar design to their past successful cases.

Doesn’t protect the screen
my iPad dropped once WITH THE CASE ON and my screen is shattered, bad. This makes no sense and I’m so upset right now.

Love this OtterBox Defender case for my iPad. It’s Perfect! At first, I thought I had problems with this case. But then after I used it for a day or two. I realized that it’s a lot better than I thought. I have no problems at all with it. I actually like it and I’m glad I got it over any other case. I’ve been using OtterBox Defender on my phone for a long time and I do really prefer your case to any other. It is the best and safest. I like everything about this case. Thank you OtterBox.

Pretty good beta release
Very durable, with regard to drops, especially when adding a tempered glass screen protector. I agree with some of the other reviewers with regard to angles of the iPad sitting in the cover. Too vertical/horizontal at its native settings. The pencil charging cover is a poor design. Hopefully in successive models, Otterbox will improve on both of these.

Bringing others into the Otterbox family!
I got this present for my parent's in law. Otterbox has been protecting my cell phones and iPads for over a decade - glad to continue it by this rugged case for my parent's in law. It has an elegant yet rugged look and feels secure. Most importantly, I know that from rigorous testing, and our own field testing of the one that we have had on our IPAD, that it will continue to protect!

Otter Box is always great. I have one complaint why I didn’t give 5 stars… when I put my iPad in the otter box holder it stands up too straight, it is awkward and needs a little more angle back to be comfortable.

Compared to older models, they’ve dropped the ball
I picked this case up after having my old 5th gen iPad in the older version of this case for many years. I wasn’t really expecting the case to be better, but i did expect it to be at least as good as the older one. Although the flap for the charging port is still stiffer than it needs to be, and the compartment where the Apple Pencil is meant to charge does leave something to be desired, the outer shell that doubles as the stand is where this new case absolutely drops the ball. They both allow the tablet to be in two positions, but someone decided to make this new one sit at an un-usable steep angle rather than “laptop screen position” of the older case… Absolutely ridiculous.

Pencil holder is junk
Case is sturdy. Pencil holder cheap plastic fell off and I reattached multiple times. Have had case a week and pencil plastic holder fell off and was lost. I am not rough on any items I own. Sturdy case lousy design and cheap pencil pouch expensive for quality.
